What can you expect?

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer / Researcher who will assist the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models to power our recommendation system and search engine. In this role, you will have opportunities to work with state-of-the-art AI techniques, including large language and vision models, integrating them to complement our recommendation system and search architecture. You will also play a vital role in maintaining and evolving our AI systems throughout the different growth stages.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable recommendation and search engines tailored to fashion content.
• Lead the design, development, and optimization of machine learning models, especially in the context of fashion recommendation systems and search engines.
• Integrate various techniques to help tackle cold start problems, including

1. Content-based recommendation
2. Leveraging implicit user interaction signals
3. Large language (vision) models

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Python and machine learning frameworks (eg., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Prior hands-on experience with recommendation & search systems and knowledge of its key components (retrieval, re-ranking, cold-start, etc).
• Familiarity with using large language models and computer vision techniques.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Good-To-Have

• Knowledge of reinforcement learning (e.g. multi-armed bandits and related techniques).

Role:

• Conduct quantitative research with PM and other AI quants to develop and back-test different machine learning and statistical models, as well as productionize such models.
• Combine sound financial insights and machine learning techniques to explore, analyze, and harness a large variety of datasets.
• Use a rigorous scientific method to develop sophisticated trading models and shape our insights into how the markets will behave.
• Apply machine learning to a vast array of datasets

Requirements:

• Masters/PhD degree in Mathematics, Physics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics with specialization in Machine Learning
• Experience working with large datasets and machine learning techniques
• Experience in one or more of deep learning, reinforcement learning, non-convex optimisation, Bayesian non-parametrics, NLP or approximate inference.
• Publications at top conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR etc. is highly desirable.
• Experience in a high performance language (ideally C++, or similar languages)
• Outstanding performance in any quantitative field or contest (Kaggle, hackathons, olympiads, academic contests etc).
• Experience implementing machine learning algorithms in industry.
• Open to ML quants who are already working within finance or ML quants within tech who are interested to move to finance.
