Roles and responsibilities of Instrumentation Engineer

• Execute operational activities of the project within the timeframe, resources, and contract specifications
• Lead and execute the geotechnical instrumentation installation and monitoring works
• Assist the SIE/PM to ensure the smooth delivery of the project
• Involve in the preparation and submission of drawings, reports, and relevant documents to stakeholder
• Plan daily site activities, monitor project progress and work done quantity
• Ensure works are in accordance with drawing requirements. Ensure good quality of work including calibration of monitoring equipment
• Obtain any authorities’ or in-house clearances before work commencement
• Coordinate with the main civil contractor on the daily site works. Handle subcontractors’ activities (if any)
• Involve in geotechnical instrumentation testing, data acquisition, data verification and processing
• Prepare, review, and submit the instrument monitoring report
• Attend project meetings and inspections. Resolve site operation issues
• Ensure good recordkeeping. Assist in the preparation of progress claim
• Comply with internal and external WSHE requirements in the course of work
• Other duties as may be assigned on a need basis

- Generative Modelling (particularly LLMs and multi-Agent systems)

- Translational and regulatory expertise in medical devices

As a Machine Learning Research Engineer, the successful candidate will contribute to the programme by developing and implementing novel machine learning algorithms with focus on security and data privacy, as well as translating recent AI advancements to the healthcare setting.

Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are seeking Research Engineers and Research Fellows to join the exciting new Imperial/NTU CYber Protection for HEalthcaRe (IN-CYPHER) research programme on the cybersecurity of connected medical devices and systems.

The successful candidates will join the research programme which represents a collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at the newly established Imperial Global Singapore (IGS) housed within the unique CREATE campus.

Positions will be initially for 2 years fixed term (subject to 6-month probation) with potential for extension.

Positions are based in Singapore at Imperial Global Singapore at the National Research Foundations Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) located on the campus of the National University of Singapore.

(A) Essential Job Functions:

The Instrumentation & Monitoring Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Conduct, manage and solve technical issues escalated from sites related to instrumentation and monitoring.
• Coordinate, manage, and supervise all the instrument installation and monitoring works.
• Liaise and coordinate with subcontractor for installation and monitoring issues.
• Interpret and prepare interpretative reports for instrumentation.
• Participate in monitoring meetings with client and coordinate with IMC.
• Coordinate with the construction team to minimise obstruction and damage to the monitoring instruments.
• Supervise and quality control in instrumentation works
• Other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager.

(B) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:

• A Degree holder in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in civil projects.
• Experience in Instrument Installation, Recordings, Interpretation.

(D) Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

• Adept in using MS Office, especially, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Excellent English communication and written skill (To liaise with Government Authorities, clients and associates).
• Must be able to work under pressure.
