Essential Job Functions

As an Assistant Experience Engineer, you play a pivotal role in developing exhibits and experience, ensuring they operate at the highest level for the enjoyable experience for our guests.

Your responsibilities include the following:

- Exhibit checks, reporting, troubleshooting and maintenance of exhibits/exhibitions

- Carry out periodic image back-ups of our exhibits, maintaining the exhibition network and administration of the team’s knowledge management database (storage FTP server)

- Set-up and takedown of Exhibitions

- Exhibit Ideation and Prototyping

- Work on Exhibit Specifications (including providing technical advice for development projects)

Requirements

Knowledge and work experience in the following areas will be an advantage.

Diploma in Industrial Design/Product Design:

· Machining, mechanical assembly works, electrical and electronic systems, digital prototyping using CAD (computer-aided Design) software.

· Rapid prototyping, addictive and subtractive fabrication of spare parts and components for exhibits, exhibit housing and experiences.

· Operating woodworking machines such as, the bench saw, planer, routers and stand drill.

· Wood/plastics fabrication works

OR

Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent:

· Familiarity with troubleshooting basic computer hardware faults, diagnose software issues within an exhibit and resolve them

Other Skills/Abilities

Having a strong interest in taking apart or fixing things, coupled with the ability to handle basic equipment and tools useful in carrying out the duties within the galleries.

We value qualities such as professionalism, initiative, and quality service in all aspects of interaction with both internal and external customers, collaborative and enthusiastic about learning and acquiring new skills.

Shift Requirements

Rotating 5-day work shifts is a requirement, while duties on weekends and public holidays will be scheduled as and when required.

We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join Gallery Exhibitions department as a Technician to ensure that all the exhibits are operational to the highest level for the enjoyment of our visitors.

Essential Job Functions

As a technician, you will look after the maintenance and proper functioning of the exhibits in the Centre. You are required to carry out periodic maintenance, troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical and computer-related faults that might arise with exhibits, in the Science Centre and KidsStop on a rotational schedule with the rest of the Exhibit Maintenance team.

Requirements

The candidate should have good knowledge in Mechatronics/Electronics. He should be proficient in the use of simple test equipment in exhibit troubleshooting work and have at least 2 years of work experience in maintaining and servicing electronic, electro-mechanical equipment. Good knowledge of computer hardware and programming systems would be an advantage.
