Key Responsibilities:
Workshop Operations and Support:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the bus engineering workshops, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and meet maintenance standards.
- Develop, review, and enhance maintenance processes and engineering capabilities in line with company vision and market needs.
- Analyze workshop productivity and performance metrics to implement actions for continuous improvement.
- Oversee compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and internal standards such as RA, SWP, SOP, and ISO procedures (9001, 55001, 23001, ISO 45001).
- Liaise with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Bus MAR matters and workshop equipment replacements.
- Procure tools and equipment to improve work efficiency and enhance workshop capabilities.
- Ensure active participation in all ISO audits, follow-up actions, and correctives to maintain certification.
Administrative Support & Reporting:
- Coordinate and analyze Bus Fleet Maintenance Audit Rating (MAR) results, WSH audits, and passenger feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present performance reports for Management, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) and audit outcomes.
- Handle LTA submissions, including Waivers, Monthly Maintenance Reports, and daily bus-held-back reports.
- Submit Bus Engineering Monthly Incentives for Management approval and oversee other administrative duties as assigned.
Competency Development:
- Collaborate with BTTC, ITE, and SGBA to create and revise technical training programs aimed at upskilling workshop technicians.
- Develop engaging training content (e-learning, video, graphics) to ensure technicians' competencies align with evolving bus models and equipment.
- Work with vendors and OEMs to deliver training on new bus models and technologies.
- Assess and refresh training programs to enhance the quality of maintenance and repair work across the fleet.
Central Recovery Service Management:
- Lead the CRS team to ensure the expedient and safe recovery of immobilized buses.
- Maintain and ensure the readiness of all CRS recovery vehicles.
- Meet all CRS KPIs and operate within budget forecasts and internal performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and employment acts.
- Workshop Management:
- Ensure the workshop adheres to internal KPIs and complies with LTA's Quality of Service (QoS) standards.
- Oversee workshop productivity and resource allocation to minimize downtime and optimize fleet maintenance.
- Monitor spare parts usage, manage workshop inventory, and ensure the accuracy of maintenance records in the BEAMS system.
- Promote lean operations, sustainability programs, and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to meet operational needs.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, with a strong understanding of maintenance operations.
- Proven supervisory and decision-making abilities with a track record of leading teams and achieving targets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Customer-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
