• The Technical Superintendent bears responsibility for the secure, efficient, and environmentally conscious operation of the designated vessels.
• Ensure compliance of the vessel/s with all pertinent rules and regulations, placing special emphasis on the ISM code, flag state, port state, industry-specific requirements, and regulations, and provide appropriate support to ships.
• In the absence of the line manager, monitor and follow up on significant matters, updating the immediate reporting line manager.

• Conduct regular data analysis of costs, PMS, and other Key Performance Indicator (KPI) factors to assess the health of the ship from a ship management perspective.
• Undertake any other technical-related assignments as required by the Line Technical Manager.

Requirement

• Possess technical/maritime qualifications, preferably with seagoing experience on bulk carriers as Chief or Second Engineer/Master OR hold a degree in naval architecture or marine engineering with relevant office experience managing dry bulk vessels (including those with cranes).
• Standard computer literacy is required.
• Demonstrates a focus on environmental considerations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster close relationships with shipboard staff, vessel technical managers, operation managers, as well as internal and external support functions.

Purpose and Scope

Carry out inspections as per daily maintenance schedule; attend defects, breakdowns, including the repairing of Mechanical Equipment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

· Conduct disassembling and assembling of Mechanical Equipment & Familiar with Boiler statutory inspections

· Hands on experience of valves, pumps, compressors, piping, safety valves, control & shutoff valves etc

· Assist the Maintenance Mechanical Engineers to troubleshoot/ fault diagnosis/ failure analysis to determine cause of failure.

· Assist the Maintenance Mechanical Engineers to develop Risk Assessment and mitigation measures for every Maintenance job in the plant

· Apply for Permit to Work (PTW) as the Competent Person (CP) for every Maintenance work in the plant

· Supervise contractors and liaise with other maintenance crafts and operations technicians to execute maintenance activities

· Withdraw and prepare spares from warehouse for job execution.

· Prepare daily updates on Maintenance activities for the day to all stakeholders (operations)

· Flexibility in supporting other Sembcorp plants whenever required.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

· Min Higher- Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical engineering field
