Job Objectives

Monitor and to manage the technology Incidents impacting the Bank’s group businesses across all subsidiaries and 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. The Major Incident Manager also works directly with Application and Infrastructure support staffs, Operations, Business and vendors to ensure agreed service levels are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages technology incidents impacting the Bank’s group businesses

• Work with relevant business & technology group/units to comply with the Incident and Problem Management processes and procedures, to facilitate and improve incident recognition, logging, assignment, tracking, status notification, escalation, documentation and management reporting in full compliance with the Bank’s standards on Incident and Problem Management functions

• End to end ownership of the Major Incident with the aim to minimize the time to restore the services.

• Establishing strong command and control of an Incident, establishing clear accountability and precise evaluation of complex issue scenarios.

• Participation in all incident resolution calls to facilitate incident determination, recovery and resolution

• Timely incident recognition, logging, assignment and resolution (or bypass / temporary resolution where permanent resolution within the allotted timeframe is not feasible) with proper documentation

• Incident progression co-ordination and monitoring of Incidents and potential areas through symptoms, trends or deviations from standards

• Escalation of critical and unresolved Incidents to appropriate levels of management

• Ensure incident data is accurately captured and documented in the incident reporting tool.

• Post Incident activity to ensure highest levels of service quality and improving service levels through identification of problem trends and causes which impact the delivery of production services.

• Ability to communicate well and manage highly stressful situations during the Incident.

• Problem Management: Experience in various problem-solving methods like five whys, Fish bone etc. End to end ownership to initiate, track and the closure of problem tickets and the preventive actions.

• Participate in the standard Post-mortem (Root cause analysis) process to ensure no repeat of any technology incidents with known root cause.

• Management reporting

• Effective and accurate incident reporting and assignment by using tools, which are customized and implemented, where applicable. Work towards effective use of these automated solutions with other tools and procedures within command center/ datacenter, in order to garner and present an accurate picture of the incident situation, minimize adverse change impact, and facilitate the incident recognition and resolution process.

• Work in co-operation with other Technology & Operations/Shared Infrastructure Services functions to help maintain an acceptable audit rating.

• KPI Metrics and Reporting: Capture Incident timelines in ticketing tools, Incident Impact and Resolution Duration and the associated KPIs.

• Audit Reporting: Data analysis, PowerPoint presentation, Regulatory reporting.

• Good knowledge on Macro, Excel, PowerPoint, Ticketing tools, Data analysis.

• Ensure compliance to Group Technology & Operations Policies and Standards

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline required.

• ITIL certification is a must

• Experience: 8-10 years managing complex IT initiatives in a matrix environment or Operational Line Managers experience is preferred.

• Excellent English communication skills (written and oral), with experience interacting with all levels of management

• Experience in Application support, Knowledge on EOD Batch processing, Infrastructure (Storage, Network, Unix/Linux etc), Web/Application/Middleware services, Good to know Payments flow.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership (design, define and deliver) of the Core Banking platform release management.

• Run the monthly demand management forums with Project Directors, Delivery Leads, ScrumMasters and Delivery Guild

• Identify technical skills required for kick-off of projects, coordinate with DEV SET BAU Guild Leads for resourcing

• Liaise with EMT Project Support Team, BAU Team and SRE Team on all audit compliance issues e.g., Service Packs

• Support PMO Lead Function and Lead Support with setting up Kanban Boards, Confluence processes for Reporting

• Work with C2E IDR, ADR, RPCCB, CR process teams and approval stakeholders to support project delivery

• Interface with the Country and Product BAU Tribes and Squads to support transition from PRJ to BAU

• Perform the Scrum Master role (where required) and lead the EMT PRJ Support team in their sprint deliveries.

• Single point of contact between Core Banking platform delivery teams, CBG CES (external stakeholders) for Release

• Manage all activities end-to-end to deliver the project (from scoping to implementation) to agreed parameters.

• Setup Confluence pages to track readiness including runbook, validation checks and coordinate production readiness.

• Ensure the deliveries are adhered to standards and processes related to infra setup, application deployment.

• Collaborate with project team members from various domains to monitor, develop, execute project plans associated project content.

• Ability to manage multiple work-streams concurrently and effectively resolve issues or conflicts.

• Finacle Application environment servers run in combination of IBM AIX, VPC, OpenShift. We need the candidate to have good knowledge in various cloud technology to support the infrastructure for Optimization.

• Hands-on Experience in Finacle Application (Core Banking) Server Capacity Monitoring and Optimization.

• Good level of command over production Infra; performance monitoring and reporting tools.

• Good working experience in Elasticsearch, Logstash, Grafana/Kibana, AppDynamics etc.

• Ideal hands-on experience in Unix/Linux/Shell/Python scripting.

• Good Hands-on experience in PAAS (Platform as a Service) and not limited to AWS, Pivotal, OpenShift.

10 Years and Above Experience

Release Manager is accountable for pre-production validation of software changes, and their organized, structured deployment to production.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Provisioning of the technical environment, which enables pre-prod testing with production data

- Planning and execution of complex software cutover events, according to the Bank’s processes and standards

Responsibilities

• Coordination of designing, planning, building and final provisioning of pre-prod application testing (PAT) environment, consisting of applications from the Bank’s different units and using production data

• Identify technical skills and resources required for provisioning of PAT environment and work with the respective functional leads, to build a working team, sized for the task.

• Ensure coordination of the team’s work, acting as the Scrum Master (ensuring work planning, tracking, prioritization etc.)

• Ensure deliverables of working team are in compliance with internal standards, processes and policies.

• Liaise between working team and Change Management, Infrastructure Management, Security Management and other applicable processes and standards, ensuring quality input is obtained by the reviewing/approving body.

• For complex software deployments (cutovers):

o Work with project director, to plan and scope software release event(s)

o Take accountability for the entire event planning, across all participating systems and users

o Own the runbook, as the foundation of structured execution of actions during cutover window

o Ensure required communication alongside the progress of cutover steps

o Secure auditable artefacts for sensitive steps and decisions undertaken during the event

Requirements

• Minimum 10 - 17 years of experience and out of which, minimum 5+ years of release management using JIRA.

• Experience in provisioning technical testing & production environments in multi-countries, open source, cloud-ready ecosystem.

• Working knowledge of various cloud supporting technologies (i.e. Open Shift, APIs, Kafka, VPC, GTM…)

• Hands-on Experience in IT environment observability, on infrastructure and application level

(Elasticsearch, Logstash, Grafana/Kibana, AppDynamics).

• Knowledge on CI/CD tools, flow mechanism other supporting tools and processes.
