About the Role

The main objectives of this position are to manage general account and ILP funds that invest in external mandates/funds within Equities, reporting to the Head of Global Equities, in order to consistently deliver alpha from investments in equity markets, with a focus on risk control as per agreed volatility budget/constraints of each portfolio.

The Global Equity team will collaborate with relevant investment professionals to develop appropriate mandates for equity portfolios, execute portfolio management, and report performance attributes to stakeholders.

The team is expected to work seamlessly and manage communications with Group Investment, Business Divisions and AIAIM to achieve its objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Global Equities to manage and construct outsourced equity portfolios, from idea generation/fund selection to investment due diligence and portfolio construction, to meet the portfolio’s overall risk and return targets.
• Provide regular analysis and assessment of the portfolio, including regular manager review, including where needed to develop tools and reports to handle risk and performance
• Build research expertise and develop analytical tools to support decision making and propose recommendations and solutions required for global equities allocation
• Keep abreast of relevant global developments in the capital markets so as to help in idea generation for the overall portfolio and provide the Global equities team’s input into the Listed equities process.
• Actively contribute to the Group’s TAA process to aid formulation of factor/regional views from a global equity context as well as provide an outlook on equity markets.
• Report portfolio performance and attribution to BU CIO and stakeholders
• Be both a teammate and a coach/mentor for the other team members as the team grows and expands

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of funds selection/research experience
• 2 years’ experience in an asset allocation/portfolio manager role.
• Strong expertise in Equities demonstrated by a well-defined and consistent investment process, with a demonstrated success of investment performance.
• Outstanding technical proficiency, understanding of investment strategies and their implications, as well as implementation and value enhancement strategies in the physical, fund and derivative markets.
• Strong operational understanding, experience with transition management and familiarity with tactical trading or risk mitigation overlays.
• Experience working with or in an Insurance AMCO a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills. Outstanding reputation as a great teammate.
• Post graduate degree in business, finance, economics or related fields, CFA preferred.

• Drive and support successful business impact for strategic AIA initiatives across our divisions and teams, through impact-focused Agile delivery support, facilitation and coaching.

• Proactively help teams navigate structural, behavioural, process and delivery problems using a blend of your Lean Agile experience and domain expertise.

• Support everyone from leadership to delivery teams adopt, adapt and scale Agility as an experienced Lean-Agile transformation expert with practical and actionable guidance.

• Design, develop and deliver engaging trainings, workshops and events to both technology and business at project, team and organizational levels.

• Use data driven approach to help teams setup the right metrics to baseline, track and measure their progress for both technical and business teams.

• Lead the local Agile community to evangelize and scale Agility across the organization through enablement, trainings, awareness and promotional activities.

• You have the battle scars of Agile Delivery or Agile Transformation from your previous experiences and can be credible when guiding or coaching others to help solve business problems.

• You have deep experience in coaching teams within a digital and innovation environment, through the adoption of agile practices and by driving or supporting agile transformation programs in large organizations.

• You are passionate about agile, innovation and change and are excited to promote and embed them across the organization.

• You are courageous and comfortable coaching and challenging teams and senior leaders.
