Run daily operations of La Médiathèque, in accordance with the library policies and procedures such as:
- Service desk duties: checking library items in and out, inspecting materials for damage.
- Maintenance of the library book collection: shelving returns and maintaining shelf order, repairing books and cleaning.
- Provide assistance and support to library users: locating resources, use of online catalogue,…
- Curate thematic or seasonal displays.
- Assist the head librarian in organising activities and events.
- Other duties as directed by the Head librarian (solicit late returns, enforce fines…)
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level, with 2 years of relevant working experience gained in an administrative or customer-facing role.
- Excellent Customer Service skills with an ability to deal with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Familiar with digital, internet and social media online tools.
- Knowledge in French is essential (minimum B1 level).
- Knowledge of Library systems will be an added advantage but is not a pre-requisite.
- 20 hours per week - Minimum 3 days per week, including weekends.
