About Child Protection Specialist Centre (CPSC):
We are dedicated to providing quality home-based services and support to families and children experiencing abuse or severe neglect at home. Referrals are received from the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Child Protection Services to assist families and children identified as needing non-statutory services and support. Guided by a child-centred, family-focused, and community-based approach, our aim is to empower families to reach their fullest potential and provide ongoing support through life’s changes and challenges.
We invite professionals to apply for the post of Psychologist in HEART@Fei Yue Child Protection Specialist Centre. You have passion to support the recovery of children, youths, and families who have experienced adverse or traumatic life experiences. You will work with child protection caseworkers within a multi-disciplinary setting to provide psychological services to families. Ongoing training, clinical supervision, and staff support will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments on clients’ emotional and behavioural functioning, including possible trauma needs as well as self-harm and suicide risk assessments. Prepare case formulation and assessment reports for the purpose of intervention planning. Clients may consist of children, youths, or adult caregivers.
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy for children, youths, or adult caregivers presenting with trauma, emotional and behavioural needs, or other mental health conditions. Conduct parent-child or family sessions to enhance recovery.
- Work closely with families, child protection caseworkers, and other external stakeholders in a systemic approach to review and sustain treatment gains.
- Provide internal consultation services and training programmes on mental health or psychological issues, in aid of safety and case management.
- Provide triage services for psychological referrals.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all psychological services provided.
- Participate in all team or department meetings as required.
Requirements:
- Minimally a Master’s degree in Clinical, Counselling, or Applied Psychology
- At least 2 years of experience in Clinical, Counselling, or Applied Psychology setting after completion of postgraduate degree will be preferred
- Applicants possessing knowledge and experience in working with trauma needs will be preferred
- Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Good report-writing skills
- Collaborative team player, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Independent, resourceful, and proactive
- Willingness to learn and use different therapy modalities given the wide range of client presentations
- Passionate about working with children, youths, and families with an interest in trauma recovery
