Job Responsibilities
- Contribute towards achieving the targeted Gross Written Premium, Underwriting Results and Business Targets.
- Responsible for underwriting new business and review of renewal business of Marine portfolio (including cargo and hull).
- Underwrite and accept risks within delegated authority as specified in Underwriting Guidelines, Treaty and Acceptance Limits, and to obtain approval from HOS and/or HOD if authority exceeded.
- To place facultative reinsurance for risks exceeding Treaty capacity, and/or for the purpose of minimizing and spreading risk exposure
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries, and to enhance business retention and new business development.
- Assist team to prepare monthly reports, and follow up on cargo declarations.
- Undertake projects or other duties which may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in marine insurance underwriting/ broking preferred.
- Knowledge of marine insurance, particularly in cargo and/or hull preferred.
- Good team player with strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication, problem-solving and negotiation skill.
- Strong customer focus and service-oriented.
- Detail-oriented and performance-driven.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
