Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate professional 3x3 basketball coach and player to lead the establishment and growth of the new Jumpshot 3x3 Academy. The candidate will play a pivotal role in nurturing talent, developing 3x3 basketball programs, and competing in FIBA 3x3 tournaments as a representative of Jumpshot. This dual role combines coaching excellence with professional athletic performance to elevate the organisation's presence in the 3x3 basketball arena.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspiration and Community Impact:
- Act as a role model for young athletes, demonstrating professionalism, discipline, and passion for the sport.
- Engage in mentorship and leadership activities to uplift the basketball community.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity in sports by participating in initiatives that inspire broad participation in 3x3 basketball.
Coaching Responsibilities
- Establishment and Growth of Jumpshot 3x3 Academy:
- Develop a comprehensive roadmap for the academy's growth and success.
- Design and implement training programs tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Recruit, train, and mentor young athletes to develop their skills and understanding of 3x3 basketball.
- Ensure the academy aligns with international 3x3 basketball standards and fosters a competitive environment.
- Player Development:
- Identify and nurture emerging talent in local and regional basketball communities.
- Develop tailored coaching plans to improve athletes’ technical, tactical, and mental skills.
- Organise workshops, clinics, and development camps for players and coaches.
- Program Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the academy, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to enhance the academy’s reputation and opportunities.
Professional Player Responsibilities
- Representation in FIBA 3x3 Tournaments:
- Train and compete as a professional 3x3 basketball player in local, regional, and international tournaments.
- Represent Jumpshot in official FIBA 3x3 events with the goal of achieving competitive success.
- Maintain peak physical fitness and consistently hone basketball skills to perform at an elite level.
- Training and Mentorship:
- Serve as a role model for teammates, demonstrating professionalism, sportsmanship, and dedication.
- Provide insights and guidance to teammates by sharing experiences and best practices from competitive play.
- Promotion of 3x3 Basketball:
- Actively participate in school and community engagement initiatives to promote thesport and inspire participation.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create content, attend promotional events, and represent the brand.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a professional 3x3 basketball coach and/or player.
- Deep understanding of FIBA 3x3 rules, strategies, and tournament structures.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage and develop programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with players, stakeholders, and the community.
- Passionate about the growth and promotion of 3x3 basketball.
