Ensure all required chemicals, tools, and equipment are ready and functioning.
Assisting in Experiments:Assist in practical lessons in carrying out experiments and tests.
Take measurements and record data accurately during research projects.
Operate laboratory equipment under supervision, following safety protocols.
Sample Management:Collect, label, and store samples according to standard procedures.
Ensure that samples are correctly handled and maintained for future analysis.
Equipment Maintenance:Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Ensure that all instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
Assist in the setup and disassembly of experiments and equipment.
Data Management:Record, compile, and process data accurately.
Prepare reports or assist in preparing research summaries for review.
Enter experimental data into databases or spreadsheets.
Safety and Compliance:Follow laboratory safety protocols and adhere to safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Handle hazardous materials and chemicals safely, with proper disposal practices.
Assist in the maintenance of lab documentation and compliance with regulations.
Inventory and Supply Management:Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
Order new supplies when needed and manage stock to avoid shortages.
Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Requirements: Minimum high school graduate in science stream. or equivalent is typically required; however, a postsecondary degree or certification in a scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, or laboratory technology) may be preferred. Retired personnal are welcome too.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with laboratory instruments and techniques is important. Basic computer skills for data entry and analysis are also necessary.
Attention to Detail: Accurate data recording and adherence to protocols are essential.
