At Royal Ocean Marine, we are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Port Captain to join our client's team. As a Port Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our fleet in various ports.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo loading and unloading, and stevedore coordination.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with port authorities, local agents, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze port performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement appropriate strategies.
- Manage and optimize voyage costings, including bunker supplies and other operational expenses.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and finance, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews during loading and discharging operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of port activities and performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments to drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Master Mariner COC or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of port operations, including stowage planning, cargo handling, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel as required.
