The Industry Development Division 2 (IDD2) is part of the Training Partners Group in SSG which aims to build a robust and high quality Continuing Education and Training (CET) ecosystem through strategic partnerships and management of CET providers, and engagement of enterprises in skills development.

Specifically, IDD2 is responsible for:

i. Account managing strategic CET partners to develop capabilities;

ii. Working with strategic partners to plan and support sectoral manpower development needs that are aligned with the Industry Transformation Maps and Jobs Transformation Map;

Responsibilities

Due diligence on borrowers

• Due diligence on prospective clients before taking up the proposals on board and at time of review which includes obtaining ACRA, D&B, status reports from banks, statements of accounts with existing banks and market reports. Checking the names with RBI defaulters list and litigations etc. against the company / directors /shareholders.
• Ensure necessary CDD / AML & CFT measures are in place in relation with promoter’s background and business, including any adverse media reports.

Screening of prospective & existing borrowers

• Carry out screening of directors / shareholders in world compliance check and obtain KYC documents.
• Risk rating of customers based on nature, place of incorporation, jurisdiction of incorporation, corporate shareholders, suspicious transactions, tax litigations and politically exposed persons etc.

Credit rating of borrowal accounts

· Carry out credit rating of the customer as per internal rating model. The model is based on the financials and other aspects including management, industry and past experience to arrive at risk rating and pricing. Our internal rating model (OVS model) is devised by KPMG independently and it is well defined, consistent and mapped with regulatory requirements of grading as per MAS 612.

· Credit rating model to incorporate the various characteristics of the borrower, such as key financials indicators, business, industry factors, conduct of account etc.

· Proper grading of accounts as per MAS/RBI guidelines whichever are stringent.

Formulating appropriate Pricing mechanism

• To arrive at pricing of the loan, having regard to risk rating, industry scenario, cost of funds, asset-liability position, operating costs, profit margin and security offered.

Appraisal of financials key ratios & industry

• Analysis of balance sheet, operating statements and cash flow of the borrower and also consider cash flow of group / parent companies to take holistic view of the group.
• Analyse Key financial ratios and compare with benchmark ratios as per policy.
• Analyse the trend of business, compare projections v/s performance and assess business model whether it is self sustained.

Assessment of credit limits

• Assess the requirement of the borrower based on past performance and future trends, trade cycle, and cost of project (for project finance term loans).
• It is also based on credit strength of obligor and our borrower and group exposure limits. Internal rating is carried out without undue reliance on external ratings.
• Syndicated loans are appraised independently without undue reliance on assessment of lead arranger or underwriter of the facility.

The Operations Manager also plays a key role in people management, developing high-performing teams, and maintaining a positive work environment that aligns with company values and objectives.

Job Description

1. Operations

• Oversee daily activities of multiple restaurants to ensure smooth and efficient operations in both front & back of house.
• Drive operational excellence, training, and compliance
• Ensure adherence to the service quality, staff performance, overall guests’ satisfaction, ambiance & value as well as relevant regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure operational standards, cleanliness, and functionality are maintained & compliance across restaurants
• Implement SOP and all other operational procedures
• Monitor all restaurants, ensuring adequate resources at any given times, address and resolve operational issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to service
• Responsible for development, day-to-day direction and coaching for the Operations Team. Ensure performance measurements and individual development plans are implemented

2. Brand Building

• Uphold and promote the company’s brand standards across all outlets
• Collaborate with marketing teams to execute campaigns that align with brand values and objectives
• Ensure consistent execution of national and local store marketing initiatives to maximize visibility and sales
• Reinforcing brand identity through excellent customer experiences

3. Cost Management

• Analyse and manage P&L statements to optimize financial performance
• Monitor expenses, control labour costs, and identify areas for cost-saving opportunities for each restaurant to ensure efficient operations, including achieving budgeted revenue
• Set and align forthcoming monthly targets for sales turnover, food and labour cost, operating expenses and monitor closely to ensure these targets are met
• Recommend new marketing or operational policies and procedures when necessary to keep up with demand and market changes
• Implement systems for inventory control to reduce waste and improve efficiency

4. People Management

• Hiring, training, and supervising front and back-of-house staff.
• ⁠Scheduling shifts and ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak times.
• Lead, motivate, and develop restaurant management teams to achieve business objectives
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and create development plans for staff
• Ensure staffing levels meet operational needs while minimizing turnover

5. Compliance, Service & Cleanliness (CSC)

• Ensure all restaurants comply with all company policies, food safety and sanitation regulations
• Conduct routine audits to maintain high standards for raw and cooked food handling
• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken
• Provide training and updates to staff on food safety protocols and best practices, safety training and emergency preparedness plans for all employees
• Respond promptly to any food safety concerns or incidents to safeguard customers and the brand
• Enforce compliance with workplace safety policies and local regulations
• Maintain records of safety incidents and implement preventive measures to reduce risks
• Review and ensure outlets’ restaurant visitation scorings are maintained at required standards

6. Business Strategic Projects

• Identify, evaluate, and recommend prospective markets, new products, or services.
• Recommend refurbishment plan and/or remodelling of the restaurants’ image and physical appearance and overall ambience in-line with brands’ needs and industry direction.
• Plan and execute investment and reinvestment projects, including new restaurant opening, remodelling/refurbishment, equipment purchase, etc

7. Others

• Perform any other additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager of Operations & Marketing

• Undertake and be overall responsible for project site management, supervision, and contract follow-up works.
• Liaise with client, owner, building management, consultant, design firm, main contractor, sub-contractor, supplier, vendor, and others where necessary.
• Monitor and oversee work execution by company owner construction team, sub-contractor, supplier, and vendor.
• Oversee, coach, and mentor the entire project team under your charge.
• Review project teamwork performance.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment policies and practices, and quality and progress at the project work site.
• Attend project tender site show-round and tender briefing.
• Prepare tender document, costing, quotation, technical and commercial proposal and submit to client.
• Review and approve the Method Statement, Schedule, Claim, Risk Assessment, and Safe Work Procedure for the project.
• Conduct site meetings with the project team and sub-contractors and monitor site progress.
• Attend regular internal and external meetings.
• Prepare monthly reports for management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead EHS department.
• Develop, review, revise, maintain and implement EHS Management System.
• Ensure legal compliance as per statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits.
• Manage contractor from the EHS perspective.
• To investigate all incidents on the work site and implement correction actions.
• Review and revise all risk assessments to ensure compliance.
• Able to drive EHS culture in the company
• Conduct routine checks on general safety practices and propose corrective actions and measures to be taken.
• Ensure adequacy, effectiveness and readiness of fire protection system and Emergency Response Team management system for Office and Factory.
• Ensure inspection and review of all project sites activities and operation (includes Main office and 15 Changi Factory) and alert relevant Section Head of any machinery, equipment, appliance, activity or process used in each department that exposes any person to the risk of bodily injury, and to recommend appropriate corrective measures.
• Promote safe and healthy working conditions through education, awareness campaigns, training courses, drills, competitions, contests and other activities.
• Liaise with statutory bodies on EHSS-related licenses and permits and keep updated on the latest change in regulations and Acts and be conversant with all waste management regulations, procedures and licensing requirements.
• Conduct fire and safety training to employees.
• Constant update to management of EHSS performance and the continual improvement plan.
• Liaise with 3rd party security service provider and ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of services rendered to organisation.
• Constant plan-do-check-act on the related EHSS matter of plant's Environmental, Health and Safety Management System and ensure continual improvement/upgrading of the system.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Workplace, Safety and Health with 8 years relevant working experience in Construction Engineering Industry.
• Degree in Workplace, Safety and Health with 5 years relevant working experience in Construction Engineering Industry.
• Strong technical competency, good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and target oriented in a stressful environment.
• Ability to interact effectively with colleagues in other business units.
