Overview: (Summary of the role)

The Storage Engineer must be a certified Storage (SAN) and Backup Administrator in administration and troubleshooting, in a 24x7 enterprise setting (inclusive of manual discovery or post actions from automatic alerts). The Engineer will be expected to cover level 1 and level 2 storage related problems and must be an experienced administrator in the following technologies:

• IBM V3700 and V7000
• EMC unity or EMC VNX
• NETAPP storage
• HP Nimble or any Dell storage
• Hitachi storage
• EMC Isilon or any NAS product
• Cisco or Brocade san switches
• NETBACKUP or Veeam
• IBM tape libraries

Responsibilities:

• Provide Installation, administration and maintenance support for Storage Area Network and Enterprise Backup.
• Health check and monitoring of the storage devices.
• Integrate the storage solution’s hardware and software into the customer’s operating environment and ensure full interoperability.
• Regularly update the firmware.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of the storage solution is in place.
• Prepare test plan in consultation with the customer to ensure the solution can function fully. Enterprise Backup.
• Administration and management of Symantec backup environment.
• Backup job configuration and scheduling.
• Backup server performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot any backup related.
• Capacity planning for tape libraries and backup servers.
• Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) for all the critical systems and ensure successful rebuilt of Production or DR servers after each DR should the need arise.
• Manage and monitor multiple storage subsystem.
• Manage disk partitioning.
• LUN assignments (create, modify or delete LUN of various sizes).
• Creation and management of Zones.
• Manage the storage capacity and utilization.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Define and configure security within the storage subsystem.
• Maintaining or troubleshooting the zones and switch related issues.

Requirements:

• Recognized Diploma/Degree in Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Science, Business IT or other equivalent university degree.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Enterprise Backup Solutions and Storage Area Networks.
• Experience in power cycling the storage devices and upgrading the SAN switches.
• Working experience on storage replication is good to have.
• Experience data centre shutdown activities.
• Experience in DR exercises.
• Good understanding of a services business in a high-tech environment from a supplier, integrator or operator’s perspective.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and achievement oriented.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service-oriented and an effective team player.
• Preferable with government sector experience.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake construction supervision as RE of underground building works and civil infrastructure, involving site inspection, meetings and review of drawings and method statements in accordance to customer specifications, applicable codes, standards and other generally accepted practices
• Carry out independent design checks for temporary formwork and formwork support system
• Keep quality records of all works, monitor and report on work progress
• Review and comment on contractor's submissions
• To review and supervise safety, environmental and health matters
• Station full-time on site to support Senior Resident Engineers (SRE) and the QP(S) with projects

Requirements:

• Experience in Underground work/ viaduct work
• Minimum Diploma in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an established institution and/or qualification accredited by JAC of IES/ACES as QSS
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as RE for LTA project (MRT, underground, tunnelling works) or PUB project
• Has good working knowledge of Geotechnical and instrumentation works and compliance to Singapore Building Regulations
• Good analytical ability with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Independent, organized with positive work attitude
