Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sick, families, persons with disabilities, and children. We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture and religion. We have more than 90 programmes and services, reaching out to more than 55,000 people in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engage relevant internal and/or external stakeholders to identify research and evaluation needs/questions
• Conduct literature reviews
• Conceptualize and design the studies/projects including the methodology (sampling method, test materials/surveys to be used etc…) and the timeline (project milestones)
• Manage all aspects of the studies/projects from start to completion
• Conduct fieldwork, interviews, experiments, concept tests, etc. to gather data
• Conduct data preparation and cleaning on the gathered data
• Conduct statistical analyses on the cleaned data
• Prepare presentations and reports for internal/external stakeholders
• Prepare presentations for conferences and manuscripts for journal publications

• Master's degree and above in social work, psychology, or related fields
• At least two years of relevant experience is preferred (fresh graduates with research being a core component of their degree, are welcome to apply)
• Experience with at least one quantitative analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, R and/or similar tools
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Analytical, organized, and good interpersonal skills
• Prior experience in social service sector would be an added advantage

[What the role is]

We are looking for a researcher/senior researcher to work on the following:

Research projects seeking to improve tree structural stability in urban environments, including the development of new technologies and methodologies to assess defects in tree trunks, tree root parameters in constrained urban spaces and tree root anchorage strength, as well as wind load modelling and measurement for trees. Key roles for the projects above will include project management, field and laboratory testing, project coordination and contributions to reports and scientific publications.

[What you will be working on]

1. Coordination between research stakeholders and greenery asset managers to perform large scale-field work (e.g. LiDAR scanning, root excavations and static load testing etc.).

2. Data collection and evaluation of research outcomes.

3. Project administration (e.g., claims) and ad-hoc duties

4. Contributions to reports and scientific publications.

[What we are looking for]

· Master’s degree in tree biomechanics, civil/environmental engineering, forestry, arboriculture, ecology, plant physiology, or related fields.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience in one or more scientific computing language (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) or experience in numerical modelling will be advantageous but not mandatory.

· Team player with the ability to work with other research teams and key stakeholders in government, industry, and academia.

· Relevant research and work (project management and administration) experience will be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

As a User Researcher, you will be at the forefront of understanding our users. You will conduct a wide range of research activities, from user interviews and usability testing to surveys and analytics. Your insights will directly influence the development of our digital health solutions. Responsibilities include:

• Proactively proposing and executing user research projects to uncover valuable insights into user needs, behaviors, and motivations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including data analysts to dig deep into patterns of user interaction.
• Synthesizing research findings into actionable recommendations for designers, product managers, engineers to ensure user-centricity throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Championing the voice of the user by presenting research findings to stakeholders and guiding the team to make informed user-centric decisions aligned with broader organizational goals.
• Measure and monitor the impact of research on product decisions and user experience.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a self-starter with a strong research background and a passion for healthcare. Ideally, you will have:

• 3+ years of experience in user research, preferably within a tech or healthcare environment.
• A proven track record in conducting user research in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in various research methodologies (interviews, usability testing, surveys, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and design thinking skills
• Knowledge of popular design tools and software including Figma is a plus.
• A passion for healthcare and a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to improve the accuracy of computer vision algorithms.
• Solve computer vision challenges that can be applied to large-scale consumer experiences around the world.
• Conduct creative computer vision research in camera signal processing.
• Building integrated solutions that apply our technology towards specific product verticals.
• Developing and maintaining the software stack.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a Master's degree. or more than 3 years of working experience in machine learning, computer vision, statistics, or a related field (or equivalent of professional work experience).
• Knowledge and experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and computer vision technologies.
• Must be able to develop an AI algorithm based on the requirements without detailed instruction from the supervisor.
• Must be proactive, cooperative, flexible, and able to respond according to the circumstances.
• Must also have good communication skills and cooperate with the relevant personnel within/outside of the laboratory to fulfill the tasks.
• Fluent in C/C++, Python (programming and debugging)
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, or related deep learning framework

Preferred Experience:

• Working Experience in the Image sensor and semiconductor industry.
• Experience in leading multiple projects in a cross-functional/cultural environment.
• Working knowledge of any scripting or prototyping language (e.g. Python, MATLAB, etc.)
• Knowledge of parallel computing, CUDA, OpenCL, GPGPU
