The Role

We are looking for a teacher with outstanding subject knowledge and a broad experience of teaching ages 14-18 who can teach Economics at both GCSE and Post-16. The school offers GCSE Economics and Business, A level Economics and Business and IB Economics and Business Management in our dual pathway Sixth Form. Key Responsibilities

1. Learning & Teaching

• Assist the AHOF in assessing and developing the Business & Economics curriculum in the school.

• Assist the AHOF/HOF in identifying areas for development in Business, Economics & Enterprise within the broader aims of the school development plan.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the planning and delivery of the schemes of work, including the choice of appropriate teaching and learning methods to meet the needs of the subject, and of different pupils.
• Keep abreast of current developments in Business and Economics and to assist the AHOF in adapting curriculum content and methods of teaching and examining as appropriate.

3. Management of Resources and the Teaching Environment

• Assist the AHOF in identifying appropriate resources within the limits of the departmental budget.

4. Assessment, Recording & Reporting

• Ensure students’ work is regularly assessed according to Humanities Faculty policy and that homework is in line with school policy.
• Report to parents in accordance with the school’s reporting policy as laid down in the Staff Handbook.
• To use information gained from assessment, recording and reporting procedures to generate further improvement in student achievement.
• Assist the AHOF in the setting and marking of school examinations and to supervise entries for external examinations.

5. Pastoral and Co-Curricular

• When required, take on a form tutor role in the Senior School and fulfill the responsibilities of that position.
• Follow the School’s policies and procedures with regard to discipline and behaviour, daily routines, duties, homework, leave of absence, and visits, as laid down in the Staff Handbook.

Job Description

The Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) is a large scale population-based health research project by the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. We are looking for a team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and who is service-oriented and good at time management. The role primarily involves performing dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans on research participants within a health screening centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Obtain consent from research participants and perform health assessments including anthropometry, blood pressure measurement and ECG (female only).
2. (Upon completion of training) Perform bone densitometry and whole body composition scans on 20 participants per health screening session, keeping to the turnaround time per participant for that procedure.
3. Review images and perform data entry accurately, noting any observation of anomalies.
4. Analyse images and upload to the research database.
5. Perform regular quality control and calibration procedures and maintenance of equipment.
6. Update the inventory of consumables.
7. Ensure the safety and protect the privacy of research participants by adhering to best practices. Reporting of incidents, complaints or adverse events.

Qualifications

• Diploma in life or health sciences and minimum 2 years of any work experience, or degree in life or health sciences.
