We are seeking an experienced System Engineer with a strong foundation in Management Information Systems (MIS) to join our team as a Senior Specialist. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and implementing robust security measures.

The Challenges:

• System Setup & Maintenance: Oversee the setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of computer hardware, networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Technical Support: Provide IT technical support for end-users, addressing issues related to hardware, software, network, and printers.
• Vendor Liaison: Act as the point of contact with users and IT vendors to facilitate the delivery of IT solutions and services.
• Cybersecurity Management: Manage data protection and cybersecurity functions, ensuring systems are properly set up and maintained to safeguard against threats.
• IT Asset Documentation: Assist in the procurement and thorough documentation of IT assets.
• Network & System Support: Support system installation, configuration, and software upgrades, including applying necessary system patches.
• Microsoft 365 Administration: Configure and manage Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive, including user provisioning and licensing.
• Security Policy Implementation: Implement and maintain Microsoft 365 security policies, covering Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Cloud Defender, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Troubleshooting: Provide support for Windows environments, troubleshooting common issues and assisting with email support.
• Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by management to support organizational goals.

What It Takes:

• Educational Background: Diploma in Computer Science or a relevant degree in a related discipline.
• Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Windows environment, including configuring and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft 365 Knowledge: Proficiency in configuring and managing Microsoft 365 services and implementing security measures.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve a range of IT issues with effective troubleshooting.
• Communication Skills: Competence in liaising with both users and vendors, ensuring clear and timely communication.

Job Purpose

The Assistant Engineer’s job scope shall include leading a team of Technical Officer(s) to perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), Overhaul (OH) and Engineering Support (ES) on all SMRT Thomson-East Coast Line (STEL) Trains, Depot and Workshop equipment so as to provide a safe, reliable and comfortable journey for our commuters.

Responsibilities

• Be aligned and act in accordance to SMRT's Vision, Mission, Service Standard and Core Values.
• Ensure good understanding, knowledge and skills needed for all maintenance activities and provide support for staff training.
• Lead and supervise a team of Technical Officer(s) to perform preventive, corrective, overhaul, troubleshooting, engineering analysis, investigation or any assigned maintenance activities on all rolling stocks, depot and workshop equipment.
• Assist to plan and coordinate staff deployment and shift roster to optimise resources utilisation.
• Verify and ensure all tasks executed by the team are in accordance to latest Work Instructions, Quality, Maintenance, Operational and Safety Procedures, and to ensure personal and peers’ safety at all times.
• Ensure spares, tools and equipment used are in good condition and calibrated if necessary.
• Perform train shunting activities and operate depot equipment, maintenance vehicles and maintenance equipment to support maintenance activities of the group.
• Verify and ensure work records done by the team are updated factually, accurately and timely on Work Records Form and on the Maintenance Management System
• Report immediately any abnormalities or practices observed that are not in accordance to Work Instructions, Quality, Maintenance, Operational and Safety Procedures.
• Adopt KAIZEN methodology (5M, 5S & 5W) to eliminate 8 Wastes and improve Productivity and Value of work performed.
• Provide support to staff, contractors or any other personnel who are required to perform work on depot and all rolling stocks.
• To support the group during incidents, accidents and emergencies.
• Ensure excellent housekeeping are maintained within all work areas.
• Maintain a high level of work discipline and standards.
• Perform any other task as assigned.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology/ Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Preferably 5 year’s relevant experience in the railway environment.

For New Project:

Design and oversee the installation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems in buildings, including ductwork, piping and equipment selection

To Conduct site inspections to ensure work procedure is adhered to

To Manage junior engineers to ensure project progresses as per timeline

· To prepare report n coordinate with building owner, consultant m contractors to ensure acmv/hvac systems are implemented as per building design

For Maintenance

· To Develop and implement maintenance programs for HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency

Requirements

· Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

· 4 years’ experience of Acmv/HVAC project management

· 4 years’ experience of equipment selection, load calculations, and ductwork design

· 4 years’ experience of Singapore building codes, regulations related to HVAC systems

· 4 years’ experience pf design software AutoCAD

· 5 days’ work week with alternate half Saturday.
