Overview

As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible to perform all the required job responsibilities as stated below. You are to assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to ensure that all Quantity Surveying processes and procedures are in compliance to the Company’s standard and requirements.

A) Tendering Process

1) Monitor and update all tender invitations for precast work in the list of daily tender enquiries and summary tender enquiries.

• Provide relevant information and reports to superiors regularly.
• liaise with consultants on the day-to-day inspection on site.
• Sort out discrepancies and other detailing problems in the construction works with the consultants and superiors.
• Implement all relevant policies, procedures and work instructions as so defined in the Company's Quality System and QSHE requirement.
• Prepare daily/weekly and monthly site reports and submit to the planning department.
• Prepare all related documents before any commencement of any works at site including method statements, material submission, preliminary drawings/shop drawings, and permit to work by internal parties such as Safety, QAQC and Environmental departments. Also, liaise with Design and Technical Department in order to get drawings for construction. At the same time, assist and liaise with Approval Department in order to get all the permits to work by local authorities or third parties.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and prepare minutes of meetings.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil/ Mechanical Engineering recognised by Singapore PE Board
• At least 5 years working experience in civil engineering / infrastructure projects/ tunneling projects supervision

Key Job Accountabilities (Actual daily deliverables):

• Examine photographic pictures and other photographic equipment for defects or faulty operation to determine course of action required to satisfy customer quality
• Review unresolved requests for adjustment of complaints and reads customer comments to determine basis of complaint and plan of action needed to resolve complaint.
• Determine cause of defect and alert process and equipment owners for correction and preventive actions or suggest remedies to prevent subsequent errors in processing.
• Prepare reports indicating complaints handled and dispositions made.
• Suggest and execute improvement projects for quality, cycletime and cost improvement

Required Experience and Qualifications (Required knowledge, skills and experience---however acquired):

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant experience in wafer bumping or wafer fabrication an added advantage

Job Purpose:

• To liaise with customer claims and solve quality problems and perform FAE/FAI & approve on new products/parts evaluation and judgment related to Avionics products.

Job Scope:

1. Perform first article evaluation (FAE/FAI) and on new parts/products that are newly manufactured.
2. Conduct shipping judgement meeting for first-time manufactured and shipped-out products.
