The Logistics Officer will work closely with suppliers, transportation companies, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and materials.

Responsibilities:

1. Logistics Planning and Coordination:

• Develop and implement logistics strategies that ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Coordinate with suppliers, transportation companies, and internal departments to plan and execute the movement of goods.
• Monitor and manage the flow of goods, including inventory levels, order status, and delivery schedules.

2. Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and ensure that stock levels are sufficient to meet demand.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage inventory, track stock movements, and conduct regular inventory audits.
• Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and optimize stock levels.

3. Transportation Management:

• Arrange and oversee the transportation of goods, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and in good condition.
• Negotiate contracts with transportation companies and manage relationships with carriers and freight forwarders.
• Monitor and optimize transportation costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.

4. Supply Chain Management:

• Work with suppliers to ensure that materials and products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Manage the procurement of goods, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and effective communication.

5. Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare and maintain all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including import/export laws, transportation safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor and report on logistics performance, including delivery times, costs, and service levels.

6. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

• Address and resolve any issues that arise during the transportation, storage, or delivery of goods.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records, shipping documentation, or delivery schedules.
• Develop and implement solutions to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs.

7. Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, transportation costs, and inventory levels.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide recommendations to management on how to optimize logistics operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of logistics software and tools.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
