14. Ensures that silverware, chinaware, glassware and other accessories are clean and in good condition.

15. Ensures that all side station, table and other furniture and fixtures are clean before, during and after service so that the outlet looks neat and tidy at all times. Rectifies any shortcoming if possible, or informs the immediate superior of such shortcomings.

16. Performs opening and closing duties as directed.

17. Adheres to NEA hygiene standard at all times.

18. Takes Food and beverage orders, sets in cutlery according to orders and serves these orders in a prompt manner.

19. Encourages repeat patronage and revenues by providing excellent service, by up selling and by recommending additional services and activities.

20. Handles billing for services rendered.

21. Performs bar service duties.

22. Assists in any other relevant duties pertaining to F&B services in any F&B outlet as assigned.

23. Maintains a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

24. Reduces waste and expenses by handling all foods, beverages and equipment with care and diligence.

25. Acquires knowledge and briefs subordinates of F&B and Club activities and promotions and encourages members to order/patronise these.

26. Maintains warm, cordial and professional relations with members and their guests, without intruding into their privacy or discussing personal matters.

27. Assists in handling enquiries pertaining to other outlets or other departments, where possible.

28. Carries out any other related task assigned by the immediate superior.

Responsibilities:

· Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements

· Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed

· Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements

· Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items

· Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible

· Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated

· Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance

· ·Build scaffolding and other construction structures

Requirements:

· Hands-on experience as carpenter

· Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

· Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)

· Ability to read technical documents and drawings

· Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Projects a professional image at all times.
• Delivers quality portering services to patients and staff in the hospital.
• Provides portering services which include but not limited to patients, medical records, specimen, equipment, medication and blood products to and from the wards/ specialist clinics / departments / external centres in a safe and professional manner.
• Assists in the reception of patients by provision of wheelchairs / trolleys and their transfer from ambulance and to ensure proper transfer and lifting techniques are practiced when transferring patients.
• Maintains proper filling system for purpose of submission of daily tasks.
• Leads a team of porters and ensures supervision, grooming, motivation, discipline and training to the team.
• Conducts training, provides guidance and coach staff to raise competency level.
• Disseminates information where necessary and provides feedback to supervisor on cases of interest.
• Ensures that the equipments / mobile devices are in good working conditions at all times and report any defects.
• Prepares and maintains daily roster, daily attendance and periodic reports.
• Collects and consolidates all medical certificate submission, leave application forms and ensures that all documents are in order prior to submission.
• Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workplace and/ or shared areas of work with other staff.
• Monitors all Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and practices, reports incidents to supervisor immediately
• Responds to hospital or civil emergency activations (eg. call tree, hospital decontamination station, Kingfisher activation, etc) while on duty or/and off duty (standby).
• Undertakes any other duties/ activities/ projects, etc. as and when instructed by the supervisor or management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 'O' Levels, & ITE Cert
• Without experience, candidate is welcome to apply. Training will be provided
• Applicants must be willing to work in Singapore General Hospital
• Preferably Non-Executives specializing in General Work (Housekeeper, Driver, Dispatch, Messenger, etc), or Healthcare (Medical Support, Assistant or equivalent)
• Working Days: 5-6 days a week
• Able to work overtime (when required)
