We are seeking an individual to support our business in printing and canvas stretching/framing. This job would be based at our factory space at 48 Toh Guan Road.

Whilst some experience would be preferable we are more than willing to onboard someone with no experience providing you have the right attitude and drive to learn.

The job loosely involves:

• Handling print jobs on a range of media - typically paper and canvas based prints on large format printers such as the Canon Pro-566.
• Operating the printer, such as loading & unloading media, creating print jobs, handling post print and distribution.
• Manufacturing canvas stretcher bars, which involves basic measurements and the usage of two pieces of simple machinery.
• Stretching canvases over these wooden stretcher bars.
• General tasks such as packaging, producing shipping labels and generally supproting in keeping the factory tidy.

Base salary would be dependent on existing experience but we are also open to agreeing a commission based portion based on the overall performance of the business each month and the individuals contribution in terms of the number of pieces produced.

Job Description: Join our esteemed art gallery as Media and Graphic Design Assistant where your primary role will involve creating design works for exhibitions and promotional materials. You will also play a crucial role in managing our social media presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Xiao Hong Shu, and our official website.

Responsibilities:

• Lead gallery’s design production and planning of art exhibitions and publicity communications
• Design and produce graphic and written fabrications of exhibition materials, advertisements and innovate gallery’s promotional publications
• Based on content needs, engage in media layout arrangement and copywriting design; assist in design and aesthetic work for other departments.
• Process and edit digital photos and videos for events and marketing materials
• Collaborate closely with artists and team to ensure quality and timely completion of various design projects
• Effectively manage production budget by drawing on relevant knowledge and experiences
• Assist with the development and management of our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Xiao Hong Shu) and website

Qualifications:

• Experience with design and art related fields, work experience in art institutions will be a plus
• Meticulous and disciplined with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Independent, resourceful and possess excellent time management skills.
• Excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills in both English and Chinese required.

Your creativity, organisational skills, and passion for art will contribute significantly to enhancing our gallery's reputation and visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging content for press releases, newsletters, and social media platforms to highlight upcoming exhibitions, artist profiles, and gallery events.
• Social Media Management: Oversee the gallery's social media accounts, including planning content calendars, posting updates, and engaging with the audience to build community and promote visibility.
• Public Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage for gallery events and exhibitions, enhancing the gallery's public profile.
• Event Promotion: Coordinate with the events team to create promotional strategies for gallery openings, special events, and exhibitions, ensuring wide visibility and attendance.
• Media Monitoring: Regularly monitor and report on media coverage, social media engagement, and public sentiment to gauge the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust plans accordingly.
• Brand Management: Ensure all public communications and promotional materials adhere to the gallery's branding guidelines, maintaining a consistent voice and image across all platforms.
• Crisis Communication: Manage and respond to any negative press or social media feedback in a timely and professional manner to protect the gallery's reputation.
• Collateral Development: Assist in the production of marketing and promotional materials, such as brochures, flyers, and digital content, to support gallery exhibitions and events.
• Analytics and Reporting: Utilise analytics tools to track the performance of social media campaigns and PR efforts, providing regular reports to the management team for strategic decision-making.
• Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between the gallery, artists, and external partners to ensure coordinated efforts in media and public relations activities.
• Research and Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, media opportunities, and competitive activities to identify new marketing and communication opportunities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in event organisation, preferably within the art sector.
• Able to converse in Chinese
• Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flair for networking.
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Degree in Arts Management, Event Management, or a related field is advantageous.
