Our crude benchmarks are widely adopted in commercial contracts, internal transfer pricing, tax formulae and economic modelling used by governments, traders, refiners, exchanges, and financial institutions.
We are looking for a highly driven, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual to join our Asia team in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, inquisitive, numerate, and literate market analyst, consultant, broker to transfer their skills and knowledge to a price reporting, news, and analysis business.
In this role, you will work in a fast-paced team and cover China's domestic crude oil markets. In addition, you will be writing engaging market intelligence and analysing spot prices that are timely, accurate, objective, and meaningful for our clients. This includes maintaining a strong network of contacts within the industries to source original, relevant and exclusive content. You will be personable and be able to quickly become a subject matter expert and lead coverage within the designated product portfolio. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from various backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe. In addition, there are opportunities to travel, attend industry events, present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.
· Monitor and assess fast-moving markets to produce daily price assessments, market commentaries, analysis, and reports.
· Establish strong relationships with key members of the industry and business leaders through meetings and daily communications to gain an in-depth understanding of your market.
· Proactively generate news leads and pitch stories, contribute copy to the relevant publication and contribute to unique content (blog posts, white papers, webinars, podcasts, etc.).
· Collaborate with colleagues on the desk and other teams to enhance and drive coverage.
· Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to build contacts and represent Argus.
· Build your industry expertise and writing skills to provide readers with first-class market insights and analysis.

What we’re looking for in you
· A graduate with strong degree preferably in Economics, Journalism, Communications, Business, or relevant field.
· Prior experience in the financial, energy, commodities or journalism sector is useful but not essential.
· Excellent writing, grammar, and numeracy skills
· Proficiency working with Excel and interest in further developing data skills.
· Ability to work effectively with management and meet targets in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives

Travel
