Our client is a Manufacturing MNC. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for a Procurement Engineer to join their Business Development team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team. They are located in the North.

Responsibilities

• Request quotes for mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities based on customer specifications or suggest alternatives.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, responsible for submitting component Bill of Materials.
• Implement cost reduction and alternate sourcing programs for new and existing projects.
• Manage supplier base, focusing on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and finalizing contracts.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to obtain First Article Approval.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Contribute to the company's risk management process in alignment with your role and responsibilities.
• Any ad-hoc duty as assigned

Requirement

• Min Diploma in Engineering
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, VLookup and SAP
• Experience in procurement in mechanical component such as sheet metal & machining

Your Role

To liaise with different departments and achieve KPIs to measure the performance of automated systems and operations. To implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. Training staffs for new automation system and stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in warehouse automation for further enhancements

What Will You Do

What Do We Want

• At least Degree & above in Automation/ Mechanical / Electrical or Electronic equivalent qualifications.
• Min 10 years & above of experienced in with warehouse automation technologies, such as robotics, automated storage systems, conveyor systems, WMS, and IoT devices.
• Have hands-on experiences in the implementation, maintenance of automation systems in warehouse settings.
• Strongly knowledge of warehouse automation technologies and understand emerging trends and innovations in the field of warehouse automation.
• Understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and ROI calculations related to automation investments and to achieve maximum ROI on automation solutions.
• Have experiences in guiding installation, debugging and renovations

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and enhance supply chain processes and systems to foster collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement for overall optimization.
• Design, implement, and improve operational processes by integrating automation technology.
• Provide practical recommendations for business requirements, addressing high-level pain points and issues.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and operators on automation projects, ensuring successful implementation by understanding requirements and vendor capabilities.
• Review automation project progress and vendor performance to ensure effective strategy implementation.
• Drive innovation from ideation to realization, including defining automation/technology roadmaps, project budgeting, and implementation plans.
• Offer industry insights on automation trends, challenges, and market opportunities, showcasing how the company's products/services add value to customers.
• Coach and lead direct reports in supporting and developing automation solutions/projects, providing feedback for skill and knowledge enhancement.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in warehousing solutions, automation design, or supply chain operations in e-commerce and/or consulting environments.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end (E2E) supply chain processes.
• Experience in product management, integrating technical solutions for sustainable operations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within tight timelines.
• Prior experience with modeling/simulation tools is a plus.
• Direct experience in people management.
