Join our dynamic and growing team as a Purchasing Intern, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting key initiatives in purchasing and gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of supply chain operations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

ERP Migration Support: 

• Assist in data validation, reconciliation, and testing phases of the ERP migration process. 

• Do note that ERP migration work will occupy up to 90% of this internship’s activities 

Pricing Reviews: 

• Assisting in the R&D of new projects by conducting data gathering and research at the conceptual stage.  

• This involves comparing various technologies to determine which ones meet our requirements and evaluating their pros and cons (such as price, technical maturity, and supplier availability). 

Supplier Engagement Experience: 

When led by a seasoned purchaser, there will be opportunities to visit local supplier factories/premises, which will provide you with: 

• Insights into negotiating prices effectively. 

• Understanding of methodology for enhancing quality control. 

Manufacturing Insight Visits: 

Occasional visits to our collaborative factories in Malaysia, which will provide opportunities to: 

• Gain insights into inventory management and optimization practices within the factory (Including stock-take). 

• Understand the utilization of equipment in electronics manufacturing, production processes, and the assembly of components into finished products, offering an overview of how electronic factories operate. 

Skills & Requirements: 

• Pursuing a Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Systems, or a related field. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Meticulous attention to detail is essential for this role 

• Proactive and able to work independently in a dynamic environment. 

• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant Microsoft Office tools. 

• Basic understanding of ERP systems and related principles will be an added advantage

  2. To identify suppliers, benchmark prices, specifications, terms and delivery dates to determine the optimum one to utilize.

  1. To issue Purchase Order for raw material, packaging & trading goods in timely manner
  2. Follow up with supplier regarding delivery & arrange shipment accordingly.

Contribute to the Asia Pacific Procurement function in Philips Health Tech and gain practical Logistics Procurement work experience while you contribute to our Supply Chain strategy. You will be part of a team that source, attract and engage with top suppliers to work alongside our colleagues in improving people’s health and well-being while advancing your learning experience in a dynamic, fast pace and innovative company. You will be supporting the regional procurement team in end-to-end (E2E) logistics sourcing activities with the goal of ensuring that we are attracting and selecting the best suppliers and delivering the best Philips experience to our Customers. This could be through some of the work in daily procurement operations, process improvement as well as strategic sourcing projects.

You will be part of a lean and nimble procurement team consists of experienced logistics and Supply Chain professionals. You will be based in Singapore collaborating with both domestics and overseas team members. You will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional business teams at various levels of the organization for projects on regional/global scale. 

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Currently pursuing a bachelor degree preferably in Logistics or Business related fields; 
• Proficient in using Excel & Word & Powerpoint
• Fluent in English 
• Prior procurement or logistics related internship experience is an advantage, but not a prerequisite 
• Problem solving skills is critical in this role.
• Available to fully commit to January to June 2024
