The Opportunity:
Adecco is partnering with a global leader in water filtration solutions and we are seeking a talented individual to join their business as a Buyer. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the successful incumbent will be responsible for acquiring company materials and services, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing the flow of goods and services in the supply chain.
- Work location: Tuas (company transport available from Jurong East)
- Work hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm
- Salary: up to $4,500 + AWS
The Job:
- Utilize MRP software to assess material and service requirements.
- Create and maintain purchase orders, and monitor open orders to ensure timely deliveries.
- Expedite supplier orders to support production as needed.
- Analyze costs and negotiate prices for goods and services; update supplier price lists and contact information.
- Manage in-transit inventory levels and receipts, especially from intercompany sources.
- Collaborate with the Production Scheduler on supply changes, PO dates, and material availability.
- Communicate with suppliers on delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns.
- Share supply chain updates with other departments and management.
- Monitor Engineering Changes (EC), and manage excess, obsolete, and slow-moving materials.
- Implement consignment agreements and expand the vendor base when necessary.
- Prepare cost analysis reports and perform other duties as assigned by the superior.
The Talent:
- Minimum Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or any other related field, with 2 years of working experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP) is a must for handling data analysis work.
- Strong communication skills to negotiate with suppliers on favorable terms for the business.
- Ability to pay close attention to minor details, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
