About the role
This position is for a Manager, Purchasing who leads, trains and motivate a team of Procurement Specialists to meet Performance driven objective
Key Responsibilities:
As a Manager, Purchasing, you’ll be responsible for:
- To ensure that the Material Productivity objectives are met for Direct Material and General Procurement activities. Ensure that the cost reduction project management is clear to prevent E&O.
- Institute good vendor management by regular vendor appraisals to review Quality, Cost, Delivery and Relationship performance.
- Effective use of the Supplier Scorecard system, Supplier Gold program and the Contract Management tools to manage suppliers. Rationalize supply base annually.
- To source, identify and qualify new parts or vendors for cost reduction, new Product Development, new Contracts and to resolve Quality issues. Work closely with Engineering and Quality on supplier selection and part/supplier qualification.
- Effective use of Project Management to insure that Supplier Chain toll gates are well understood and communicated effectively to insure timely implementation and avoidance of E&O.
- Strict adherence to the organizations’ EHS, ETHICS, Quality and Sarbane Oxley objectives is expected. Ensure compliance at all time.
- Use the Metrics/Thermostat and continuously improve the processes.
Requirements

As a minimum you must have:
- Diploma or Degree in Business or Engineering with at least 5 years’ relevant purchasing experience
- Good stakeholder managements skills
- Possesses leadership qualities to manage a team
- Good understanding of purchasing processes and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective cross-functional team member with good conflict resolution skills
- Good team player
- Strong negotiation skills
- Customer focused and results driven
- Proficiency in MS office
