Job overview
Reporting to the Head of Data Management, the Process Control Engineer will undertake responsibility of the data life cycle from understanding the data collection process from ingestion of data to the publishing of data to internal and external clients focusing on data SLAs/KPIs to achieve operational excellence.
The role will primarily involve understanding the data operational responsibilities of the underlying domains team in an effort to create operational excellence for the group working in tandem with the global head and the COO. The individual would need to have strong organization and project management skills to map out workflow process designs for the different domains identifying inefficiencies and opportunities. The individual would also provide business intelligence reports and recommendations to improve data content and work on workflow change management with stakeholders. The role provides the exciting advancement opportunity of eventually being a critical member of the Project Management Office and being a key role across departments.
The data management team is responsible for acquisition and collection of key public and private data that fuels Preqin’s online databases and products. The individual has the opportunity to contribute to the future proofing of Preqin’s data operations by analyzing content that is locally collected vis-à-vis collected through vendors to improve overall quality and time to market. Upon developing holistic domain and market knowledge, members of this team will be able to contribute to organisational strategy around data management workflow tools, systems and resources for the future.

In this role you will:
- Key liaison for Global Head of Data Management
- Understanding state of operations with an aim to create and further operational excellence
- Creating business optimization opportunities leveraging existing BI tools
- Understand data life cycle nuances across datasets and provide data optimization opportunities
- Collaborate across department levels to identify further opportunities to seek operational excellence
- Leverage data domain knowledge and technical skills (python, BI) to analyse operations holistically and provide workflow prioritization recommendations
- Upon gaining suitable in-house experience, candidates are required to perform analysis and put together reports internally for senior management
- Conduct landscape scanning in relation to new BI tools, reporting mechanisms, resourcing opportunities, etc to identify emerging trends that are specific to various countries and regions
- Identify areas of improvement on data management globally
You are a good fit if:
- At least 8-10 years of relevant working experience in finance/alternative assets required.
- Management and leadership experience is key for the role.
- Experience supporting a senior manager is preferred.
- Proven Project Management skills including workflow design is preferred.
- Demonstrated communications skills with experience working with high level executives.
- Education level – Bachelors’ Degree.
- Knowledge of business intelligence systems is a must.
- Organisation design building experience is a must.
- Technical knowledge (SQL/BI/Python).
- Candidates with the right to work will be prioritised.
- Project Management certification preferred.
- Organisational design skills are key in order to work with senior management on strategic initiatives.
- Knowledge of techstack and workflow systems is preferred
- Experience in working across cultures and locations is preferred.
- Change Management experience supporting global transitions preferred.
- Technical knowledge (SQL/Python) preferred.
