Responsibilities:

The person will conduct agency reviews and trend analysis to identify potential gaps and areas for
improvement, and implement enhanced framework for the distribution reps so that they can conduct proper sales advisory processes for their policyholders and provide them with quality advice and suitable recommendations.

• Provide support for day-to-day operations by assisting in the team’s functions
• Conduct training for representatives on the sales advisory process and point-of-sales system
• Assist in monitoring competency standards required of supervisors and representatives to
  ensure alignment with regulatory and industry guidelines
• Ensure timely reviews and follow up with representatives on cases triggered by Company
  approved monitoring system, and information via other sources reported to the department
• Assist in developing and implementing communication plans on competency standards
• Engage and coach representatives and supervisors in areas of sales activity, quality of sales / sales management, and training needs as and when required
• Perform trend analysis to detect potential sales advisory and market conduct risks
• Address all queries and concerns from various internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in the execution of special projects / initiatives
• Updating of SOPs and internal guidelines when required
• Perform other work as required to meet business needs
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes
  appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and
  technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

Requirements:

• Degree holder in any discipline
• 1-3 years of compliance / investigation / sales experience in Financial Services or Insurance Industry would be an added advantage
• CMFAS qualification (M5, M9, M9A and HI) would be an added advantage
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Meticulous, systematic, able to work well independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity and accountability of work

• Assist in reviewing the quality of Fact Finder and Recommendations, and ensure that their fact finder document are in compliance with company standards

• Assist in developing and implementing communication plans on competency standards
• Engage and coach supervisors of Sales Representatives in areas of sales activity, quality of sales/ sales management, and training needs as and when required

• Assist in conducting audit for regulatory compliance requirements, including but not limited to, compliance of Life Insurance Association Members’ Undertaking (LIA MU) requirements by
  leaders, mystery shopping results, categorization of Balance Scorecard (BSC) grading, as well as appeals
• Preparing regular reports
• Liaison with IT / Group Risk Management / Distribution Regulatory and Compliance (DRC) on any data extraction / investigation and reporting
• Updating of SOPs and internal guidelines when required

Our client, an international firm is looking for a compliance surveillance individual. You will be part of the surveillance team, looking at market, trades or sales transactions. In a team of 4, you will be under the guidance of a very experienced mentor, and will be exposed to an international sales floor.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct transaction and communications surveillance to detect potential market abuse.
• Ensure surveillance activities adhere to agreed procedures and frameworks, following escalation processes and timely issue resolution.
• Review and distribute relevant management information.
• Continuously improve parameters calibration for surveillance processes.
• Manage and contribute to Trade and Communication Surveillance projects.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
• Assist with audit queries and ad hoc regulatory requests.
• Collaborate with Compliance staff across Mizuho's network, Front Office, Operations, Product Control, and Market Risk for timely investigations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of Compliance experience, with 3-5 years focused on trade and communication surveillance.
• Knowledge of local and global regulatory requirements and industry standards related to market abuse surveillance.
• Strong product knowledge across asset classes, preferably with experience in Fixed Income and FX products.
• Proficiency in PC/Excel skills and familiarity with trade/communication surveillance tools (e.g., Trading Hub, SMARTS, BBG Vault).
• Fluency in English; understanding of Cantonese preferred for trade call surveillance.
• Proactive with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective project management skills.

Note: This position requires understanding Cantonese for trade call surveillance, but speaking Cantonese is not necessary.
