We are seeking the potential to join our OFS - Instrument Manufacturing (IM). The role entails high-frequency engagements with senior management, and working-level team members, therefore, offers a great opportunity for candidates to gain knowledge and perspective of business at multiple levels.

As a Materials Engineer will be representing OFS - IM team in handling, sourcing, qualifying and purchasing the components and collaborating with NPI Engineering, Procurement and Production Engineering team on operational, strategic and identifying of quality and check on the performance and negotiating costs on materials with the existing or new suppliers. And have the opportunity to develop professional partnerships, coordinate and execution of tactical strategy and feedback on the key business.

Job responsibilities

Supplier Management

• Manage assigned commodities and suppliers to meet organization’s objectives related to quality, cost, delivery performance and schedule.
• Perform regular performance review and collaborate with suppliers on value enhancement opportunities to drive continuous improvements.
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and manufacturing to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
• Develop long-term supplier relationships and implement global procurement strategies.

Material Cost Reduction

• Drive cost reduction initiatives to meet targets.
• Aid Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined Resourcing process.
• Explore new cost reduction opportunities through Value-engineering.

NPI Support

• Consult with engineering/R&D personnel to establish performance criteria and specifications for suppliers. Communicate manufacturing specifications to suppliers.
• Source and investigate potential suppliers and recommend suitable ones for NPI projects or existing products.
• Perform RFQ and total cost analysis. Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost, and quality to obtain the maximum benefit for the company.

In addition to the above

• Assure compliance to all applicable requirements pertaining to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA and RoHS Directives.
• Track commodities market trends and latest technological processes and provide input to management during the development of worldwide materials strategy.
• Lead cross-functional projects and focus team to complete tasks on schedule.
• Solve a broad range of problems varying in scope and complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical & electro-mechanical or electrical parts procurement engineering environment, supplier quality management, and/or product engineering, manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in sourcing, procurement, process engineering or supplier quality management in an MNC manufacturing environment.
• Have an analytical mind to evaluate technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and availability of parts and equipment.
• Experienced in mechanical & electrical parts manufacturing/fabrication processes or std. design specification with good analytical skills on DFx. Must be proficient in technical drawing (2d & 3d mechanical drawings) interpretation, understand BOMs.
• Knowledge of Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) regulations

DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Direct report to Quality Manager

· Work closely with Quality Manager

· Perform Quality Inspection in accordance with the Performance Assessment Worksheet

· Tracking and ensuring inspection done and action taken as per contract requirement

· Taking down reports on Inspection, communicate/explain findings – Updating Quality Manager

· Proper documentation control

· Perform IDIQ project inspections.

· Other duties assigned.

BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS

· Must have adequate English communication skill (oral and writing).

· General knowledge on Building and Facility Maintenance and Repair

· Computer literate – Excel and Word

· Practical knowledge on Building Construction

· Basic Experience on Air Conditioning, electrical operations & any other M&E related is a plus

· Takes initiative and able to work independently.

· Must have Class 3 driver’s license.

Job Description

You will play a crucial role in leading the design, development, and deployment of the strategic procurement related compliance programs, processes, and initiatives across the global organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Global Sourcing, legal, compliance, QA, IT and data management to ensure we have a ‘One Agilent’ program in place. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, quality management and audit and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads the design, development, management and execution of strategic compliance programs and initiatives aligned with legal requirements, industry standards and organizational objectives. (e.g RoHS, responsible minerals, modern slavery)
• Acts as a “Process Champion”, consultant and recognized expert to the management team on strategic procurement processes, methodologies and strategies.
• Maintains a broad knowledge of major industry best practices and stay informed about the industry specific regulations and standards, identify and close the process gaps to ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulation.
• Identifies opportunities and drive for continuous improvement initiatives for the organization to enhance efficiency and improve productivity.
• Develop and manage process documentation, policies and training.
• Leading the internal/external QMS, process and compliance audit for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferably in Engineering or Quality.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, quality, compliance management, audit or regulatory affairs.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Strong understanding of QMS (ISO9001/13485), regulatory compliance, including knowledge and of relevant laws and regulations in the industry.
• Hands on working experience on FDA, IVDR and MDSAP will be and added advantage.
