A leading tech company is seeking a skilled professional to join its APAC Finance team. This position works closely with both internal and external partners at all levels and reports to the International Accounting Manager based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate statutory financial statement compliance for an assigned portfolio of APAC entities.
• Build and manage relationships with external vendors involved in preparing financial statements, reviewing outsourced work as needed.
• Oversee and coordinate audit processes with statutory auditors.
• Collaborate with Tax Teams for corporate tax and VAT filings.
• Prepare or review tax-related balance sheet reconciliations monthly and quarterly in line with US GAAP for assigned APAC entities.
• Track and manage APAC statutory audit activities, working with the Statutory Operations COE team.
• Support the adoption of tools, solutions, and frameworks to enhance statutory compliance processes.
• Partner with Technical Accounting Operations and Technical Accounting Teams for consistent implementation of IFRS and other standards in APAC.
• Assist in preparing technical accounting memos for complex transactions alongside the technical accounting team.
• Work with cross-functional teams within and outside Finance to achieve team objectives, including ad hoc financial analysis or special projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Recognized accounting qualification (CA, ACCA).
• 6+ years of relevant experience with a fast-growing multinational company or professional services firm (e.g., Big Four).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a broader perspective.
• Experience in process and system improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate corporate tax compliance engagements, including personal, partnership, and withholding tax.
• Develop budgets, assess resource needs, and manage and monitor engagements.
• Maintain ongoing client interactions to manage expectations and deliver exceptional service.
• Supervise the tax compliance process, adapting to any challenges that arise.
• Lead the tax compliance team by delegating tasks, providing coaching and training, and addressing staffing issues.
• Handle tax-related queries and resolve disputes with tax authorities.
• Share expertise to foster professional growth and improve service delivery. Encourage open communication and manage staff effectively.
• Participate in recruitment efforts as needed.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused work environment.
• Identify and assess business development opportunities.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships within the company.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and related tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a recognized professional qualification.
• Proven client management skills and leadership potential.
• Extensive experience in tax compliance with a strong track record in quality management and team leadership.
• Solid understanding of business and tax technical issues, with the ability to provide value-added solutions for clients..
• Strong communication skills to deliver effective client service.
• A collaborative team player who can meet deadlines and work independently.
• Familiarity with Singtax (Corporate & Personal) is preferred.

Job Description

- Handle all Singapore direct and indirect tax matters to ensure that statutory reporting requirements are met, including independently collating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders for information and submission matters.

- Handle monthly, quarterly and year- end closing, including but not limited to indirect tax computation, tax provision computation and deferred tax calculation.

- Review payment list and liaising with internal stakeholders to file the Singapore withholding tax.

- Manage tax queries from the tax authorities.

- Keep up to-date on new or changes in tax regulations, assess the impacts to the current workstream, and to update other stakeholders if required.

- Coordinate with team members in other countries on projects and initiatives

- Support the business units in their initiatives, including participating in discussions and providing tax analysis

- Assist or lead on any ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned

- Bachelor degree from accountancy and / or equivalent professional certification, with at least 5 years of working experience

- Strong communication skills so as to be able to independently engage with regional stakeholders and external consultants
