Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and energetic professional to join our team as the Manager and Guzheng Instructor at our music center. This role involves managing the daily operations of the music center while providing high-quality Guzheng instruction to students from primary to secondary school levels.
Roles and Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Manage the daily operations of the music center to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Coordinate with staff and instructors to organize schedules, classes, and activities.
- Create a professional and welcoming learning environment for students and parents.
- Assist in marketing and promoting the music center to attract new students.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalized Guzheng teaching plans based on students' learning needs.
- Prepare or adapt teaching materials to enhance learning outcomes.
- Conduct one-on-one and group lessons with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Provide regular progress updates to parents, especially for younger students.
- Guide students in preparing for performances, examinations, and competitions.
Additional Activities:
- Organize and participate in extended teaching activities such as open classes, concerts, competitions, and holiday programs.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree or above, preferably graduated from the Singapore Conservatory of Music. Specialization in Guzheng performance is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in teaching Guzheng to children and teenagers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, sensitive to the needs of a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Ability to oversee operations and coordinate effectively between teams.
- Skilled in implementing appropriate behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
Working Hours and Location:
Depending on class schedules, work may be required on weekends or public holidays.
Work location: Anywhere in Singapore, depending on operational and teaching needs.
