CLASS is an independent, not-for-profit, non-Government organization which seeks to eliminate unauthorized use of copyright works of its members and affiliates. It works to protect and enable easy access to copyright material through licensing of academic works, newspaper articles, journals, novels, photos and illustrations, especially for large scale copying of works including digital uses. From its licensing, CLASS collects and distributes royalties to its members and foreign creators through reproduction rights organisations (RROs). It also provides data to enable sister RROs to pay individual authors and publishers. CLASS's current main licensing involves the education industry - both public and private. This is a new role created to focus primarily on the corporate sector. The Licensing Manager will be responsible for managing and developing new client businesses and building new relationships to grow revenues across the corporate sectors in Singapore.
Principal tasks/responsibilities:
- Work independently as well as across different teams in order to contribute to and deliver the priorities of CLASS - using your knowledge, skills, talent and potential to the best of your abilities
- Respond promptly to rights and licensing enquiries, advising and educating customers on copyright laws and uses
- Develop actionable, strategic closure plans
- Negotiate fees and closing licensing deals
- Actively seek out and engage with business development opportunities, by involvement in activities such as email campaigns, attending industry events and meeting with clients
- Build and maintain relationships with clients in the corporate sector and to assess their requirements and how the CLASS license can meet their needs
- Maintain accurate records related to licensing, and other records as necessary
- Support Finance with payment reconciliation
- Provide regular reporting on business activities
Key Attributes:
- Proactive, target driven individual who will actively seek out new opportunities and expand client relationships
- Good knowledge of corporate sales with min 5 years of sales experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous and attention to detail
- Knowledge of MS Word and Excel is a must Flexible/Hybrid work from home/office arrangement.
