The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, is at the forefront of building capabilities and continuing professional development for an effective, innovative, and responsive TAE sector. Innovation Centre (IC), a division under IAL, leads the learning innovation with and for the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector through programmes and initiatives. The Centre’s objective is to advance the development, proliferation and adoption of proven innovative learning solutions. IC is made up of 3 teams – (i) Adoption and Acceleration, (ii) Exploration and Development and (iii) Innovation Support Services.

Job Description
Reporting to the Principal Manager, Innovation Support Services, this position is to support the administration and management of grants and financial and administrative matters of the Innovation Centre.
Key activities related to these responsibilities include:
- Manage efficiently and effectively the management and disbursement of grants offered through IC’s programmes. This includes but is not limited to duties involving verifying and reviewing budget proposals, processing budget variation requests, verifying fund disbursement requests, and processing fund disbursements.
- Ensure proper record keeping and compliance with all grant governance, finance, and auditing requirements.
- Administer and manage contracts.
- Support the centre in matters relating to finance and administration (e.g., division’s budget preparation and tracking of budget expenses and utilization, division’s procurement, etc.). This includes financial analysis, preparation and consolidation of documents for management reporting.
- Participate in the planning and/or organising of IC’s events and activities, when required.
- Support the maintenance of the IC’s microsite.
- Any other duties, including cross divisional projects or events, that may be assigned by the management from time to time to meet the needs of the organisation and changing environment
Job Requirements
- Minimum diploma in finance and budget management.
- At least three years of working experience, preferably in finance, administration and operations.
- Demonstrated ability in meeting deadlines and dealing with financial figures.
- Possess good problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station.
