POSITION SUMMARY
Due to growth, Soprano's Singapore team is seeking an experience BDM to join our high-performing team on a permanent full-time basis. The Business Development Manager (‘BDM’) is primarily responsible for understanding, qualifying and winning new customers as well as winning new departments and software sales within existing customers.
Reporting to, and working closely with the Country Sales Leader, the BDM will focus on selling our award-winning solutions into large government (local, state and federal) customers and large enterprise customers with a particular focus on the financial services/banking, health, education, retail, and logistics industry verticals.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
Soprano delivers to large enterprise and government organisations a Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) that makes their trusted mobile interactions more valuable and meaningful. Soprano works in 13 countries directly with customers and through channel partners.
The Soprano Sales team is responsible for the acquisition of new customers/logos and to sell more software and services to existing customers.
By understanding our customers’ businesses better, we can inspire great solutions that lead to very long-term relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes but is not limited to:
- Developing, executing and regularly updating a territory Go To Market Plan, including identification of key accounts to target in key market segments and regular tracking of progress against opportunities
- Achieving and maintaining Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) set by the regional sales leader
- Generating leads and prospecting new business opportunities through a range of channels including leveraging existing networks, attending industry events, using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other sales tools, and telephone-based prospecting
- Building, owning & closing a new business pipeline
- Understanding client challenges, scoping their requirements & working with internal stakeholders (e.g. sales operations, pre-sales, product and customer services teams) to shape and sell optimum solutions
- Preparing and delivering engaging and compelling software solutions proposals
- Overseeing the transition of new clients to the Customer Service team to ensure smooth client onboarding processes and ongoing Service Delivery excellence
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of local telecommunications and related regulations, customer motivations, and customer buying patterns
- Keeping the company’s CRM up to date and maintaining accurate sales forecasting as part of a cadence of internal reporting requirements
- Ensuring that co-workers are treated respectfully and without any form of discrimination, harassment or victimisation
- Ensure you are aware of yours and your team’s (if any) responsibilities in relation to company policies, including and especially IT Security policies applicable to your role, and that all requirements of these policies are met as it relates to you and your team’s (if any) role.
- Taking all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself and others in the workplace
- Performing other tasks or activities as directed
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferably in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering
- 5-8 years of experience as a Sales Manager/Business Development Manager in SaaS based IT or Telecommunications organisation
- Demonstrated experience utilizing solution selling and/or consultative approaches when engaging with clients and partners.
- Good understanding of the global Telco industry, automated communication, Artificial intelligence, and IT industry highly preferred
- Self-driven, motivated and ability to work independently.
- Excellent MS Office skills, reporting skills.
