Senior Sales Executive
Salary: Base + Commission
This an opportunity for a Singapore based Senior Sales Executive to work with our team to cover sales and business development in Asia for SmartStream Technologies.
The role will be a hybrid role with new logo targets together with account management and upselling/cross-selling into existing clients in the territory.

Job Responsibilities
The Senior Sales Executive is responsible for upselling into existing clients and generating new business sales for designated territories in Asia. This role is responsible for helping increase the footprint with the products and services SmartStream is offering to financial services firms within their territory.
The role will be based in our Singapore office and will report into the regional sales head also based in Singapore.
The goals are to achieve the sales targets set out for the calendar year by performing the key responsibilities as outlined below:
Responsibilities:
- Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing appropriate sales opportunities – mapping appropriate solutions & services to the appropriate client/prospect profiles.
- Sells solutions & services by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
- Maintains relationships with clients by providing information, and guidance; researching and recommending appropriate solutions; recommending profit and service improvements.
- Identifies product improvements or new products to Product Management by remaining current on client expectations/needs, industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
- Conduct cold calls to prospective clients to generate pipeline and supporting marketing activity.
- Qualify prospects as per the sales plan, the budgets and accurately forecast deals with new revenue opportunities on weekly/fortnightly sales calls.
- Offer products and services to qualified clients through presentation & demos with the assistance of the regional pre-sales / business solutions team. Facilitate demos for prospects, develop presentations and adapt sales collateral.
- Handle sales process from prospecting through to contract negotiations and deal closure.
- Participate in tradeshows and conferences and represent SmartStream professionally.
- Build and document sales activities in SmartStream’s CRM software and document activities. Knowledge of salesforce.com would be an advantage.
- Prepare and engage in business development team status meetings.
- Engage in educational meetings on product development and updates.
- Work with business solutions team and sales team to enhance sales presentations.
- Meet productivity metrics as per management team’s directions.
- Handle customer presentations, quotes, RFIs and RFPs (with the help from Presales).
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Travel will be required.
Key Skills
- Ability to learn and grasp complex fintech solutions and understand customer requirements.
- Coordination and collaboration required with clients and colleagues located globally.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets, including quarterly and yearly achievements.
- Proven track record of selling to new name clients/prospects.
Desirable Skills
- Preferred language skills:
o Spoken and written English is mandatory. Additionally, knowledge of Mandarin, Malay/Bahasa and/or any other SEA language would be an advantage.
- Preferably with a Singapore permanent residency or citizenship status due to local regulatory requirements. Employment Pass candidates may be considered depending on a high overall candidate profile rating.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (or above) in business or technology discipline.
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in selling to Financial Services Institutions (with experience in C-level or senior management engagement/contacts).
- Experience in selling solutions & services to the Financial Services sector in Asia – payments, treasury, finance, risk control, regulatory compliance functions, post trade back-office and middle office operations.
