Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking the right candidate to join our young, cutting-edge genomics services company as the leader of the Business Development and Customer Engagement. The ideal candidate should be an experienced molecular biologist and genomics scientist who is passionate about new technology and has a strong desire to learn about the new advances in the industry, such as long-read sequencing and spatial genomics. The BD Lead will be a member of the leadership team and work with marketers, designers, and the scientists to spread the word on our work and to engage prospects on their projects and how we can help. The BD lead will oversee and follow up on marketing campaigns, social media efforts and the development and execution of events including presentations, conferences, exhibitions, launch events and drive customer acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
· Work with the leadership and scientific teams to set strategy for business development, marketing and prospecting efforts.
· Engage with customers to understand their needs and collaborate to deliver the best possible solutions for their projects.
· Work with our creative team and technology vendors to assist in the design, development and execution of marketing campaigns in social media and direct email channels.
· Work with leadership team to identify target audiences and new market trends.
· Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, web traffic, and recommend improvements based on data insights.
· Support the organization and execution of events and conferences locally with some regional travel.
Qualifications:
· Degree (B.S., M.S. – PhD preferred) in life science, biotechnology or medical technology. Post-doctoral experience is a plus.
· Experience and knowledge of the Singapore research and clinical community, preferably with strong commercial customer-facing experience with a knowledge of events and social media marketing and CRM tools.
· Passion for cutting edge biotechnologies – especially DNA sequencing and spatial genomics.
· Sociable personality and comfortable in start-up environment and thrive on juggling multiple tasks in a fun and fast-paced setting.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and in Mandarin is a plus.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
