About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Sales Liaison, the Principal Sales Liaison is responsible for liaison with customers to support relationships and interactions for the sales and marketing of Copper (cathode/concentrates) in Korea and Nickel in Korea and Japan and identifying external market opportunities to drive the respective commodity strategies following direction from the Lead Sales Liaison.
Accountabilities:
- Demonstrates and instils an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Demonstrates commitment to the BHP Charter and Code of Business Conduct.
- Provide necessary preparatory and liaison to facilitate contract negotiations with suppliers and customers.
- Negotiates and conclude contracts with suppliers and customers as directed by the Lead Sales Liaison.
- Builds and maintains long term favorable relationships with customers and other key relationships.
- Prepare tactical plans for the respective region(s) as part of the overall strategy for the specific commodities.
- Collect, maintain and synthesize specific commodities market intelligence and exchange with relevant key relationships. Extra focus on comprehensive understanding of overall Base Metal market and value-chain in Korea/Japan.
- Translate market information, indices and knowledge into value generating trading opportunities.
- Consulted for the development of specific commodities sales plan and options, including placement, price targets, technical understanding and promotion.
- Contributes to creating value in competitive sales situations through deep commodity understanding, combined with a strong customer centric approach.
- Assist the Lead Sales Liaison with projects as required.
About You
Pivotal experience:
- Experience in a commercial and/or relevant business discipline
- Experience in Base Metal marketing and good understanding on nature of the commodities market
- Experience in the relevant regional market is advantageous.
- Experience in customer relationship management
- Experience in contract negotiations
- Prior experience in Copper Cathode, Copper Concentrates or Nickel sales and marketing is highly desired.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a commercial, economics and/or relevant business discipline
- Customer relationship management skills
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
Language:
Fluency in English and Korean
