Job Summary: The Product Research and Development Manager for Ice Cream will be responsible for overseeing and leading the development of new ice cream products from conception through production. This role requires a deep understanding of food science, creativity in flavor and product development, and strong project management skills to bring innovative ice cream products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development:Lead the ideation and creation of new ice cream flavors and products.
Develop formulations and recipes for new ice cream products, ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Conduct sensory evaluations and product testing to refine and optimize product quality.
- Project Management:Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project timelines. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and quality assurance, to ensure successful product launches. Develop and maintain project documentation, including formulations, specifications, and production processes.
- Market Research:Conduct market research to identify consumer trends, preferences, and emerging flavors in the ice cream industry. Analyze competitor products and market data to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
- Collaboration:Work closely with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and packaging materials.
Collaborate with marketing teams to develop compelling product stories and marketing strategies.
Partner with production teams to scale up recipes for mass production and ensure consistency in quality.
- Quality Assurance:Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure product safety and consistency. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to product quality or production processes.
- Innovation:Stay current with industry trends and advancements in food science and technology.
Experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and technologies to create unique and innovative ice cream products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food product development, with a focus on ice cream or frozen desserts.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and product development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using software tools for project management and data analysis.
