You will be an integral member of the Actuarial General Insurance Team who will work in collaboration with other key team members, the Finance Department and Business Department on key functions pertaining to General Insurance valuation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the timeliness & accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting deliveries
• Conduct quarterly reserve studies to provide actionable insights on business to senior management
• Drive discussion with underwriters and claims team to gather insights into business and claim trends
• Regular reviews on valuation assumptions, models and methodologies
• Develop automation solutions to actuarial work processes
• Ensure internal and regulatory compliance with MAS and other external regulatory bodies

Requirements & Competencies:

• Good progress in actuarial qualifications with 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in General Insurance actuarial function, fresh graduates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, experience in reserve modelling will be an advantage
• Strong team player who is adaptable, open to a dynamic working environment and willing to learn and explore new ways of working
• Excellent analytical and communication skills

Primary Responsibility

• Collaborate with marketing team to drive new ideas and strategies on new product development, and assist in the continuous improvement existing products.
• Material sourcing, research and reporting of market trends, work on process improvements to achieve better efficiency and cost.
• Evaluate acceptability of raw materials from new suppliers.
• Participate in product quality improvement to support Quality Assurance department regarding product complaints and cost improvements.
• Assist sales and marketing team with technical enquiries. Provide technical support to product development team.
• Work on new/existing product labelling, to review & update the product labelling to meet customer & regulatory regulations. (Singapore/Export Market)
• Prepare samples for sensory and evaluation.
• Document manufacturing protocols and standards (SOP).
• Maintain updated records of work activities: objectives of test, formulas, costing calculation, processing condition, required equipment and equipment setup.
• Perform maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, and maintain good hygiene & cleanliness in the R&D laboratory.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by superiors from time to time.

Secondary Responsibilty

• QC inspection at production lines and maintaining QC documents
• Monitoring of critical control points
• Arrange to send finished products for microbial testing
• Ensure compliance with house rules and regulations
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues and provide root cause and corrective action to be taken
• Participation in all audit checks from customer, regulatory bodies and certification bodies. (SFA,ISO, Halal)
• Develop and constantly update material data base for product specification, nutritional information, etc.

• Candidates should have good laboratory experience including: leading laboratory trials, maintaining lab operations, equipment calibration and inventory management.
• The role requires being organised in handling documentation, logistics, procurement/invoicing.
• The role requires independently organizing and executing shelf life studies.
• The successful candidate will be be working as part of a team and reports into the R&D team lead, hence interpersonal and communication skills are essential
• You'll work on a famous iconic snack brand, contributing to product innovation and regional development.
• The role is fully onsite in Pasir Panjang
• Some lifting (up to 20kg) and operation of process equipment required.

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
• 1-2 years of R&D or lab experience in the food industry.
• Experience in R&D, analytical testing, lab trial coordination, and technical report writing.
• No/minimal dietary restrictions or food allergies.

Requirements & Competencies

• Good progress in actuarial qualifications with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in General Insurance pricing or portfolio management actuarial function
• Experience in using data software & machine learning software will be added advantage
• Strong team player who is adaptable, open to a dynamic working environment and willing to explore new ways of working
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
