How this opportunity is different

The role will provide support to the Head of Actuarial STG APAC in relation to the origination, sale and delivery of actuarial consulting services to new and existing General Insurance clients in APAC. Services will be provided in cooperation with the Finance STG APAC team and will report to the Head of Actuarial STG APAC. The role will assist in the hiring, training and management of STG junior actuarial staff in ASEAN and the wider APAC region.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Candidates should be educated to degree level and be a newly/nearly qualified actuary with at least 5 years of actuarial experience.
• Prior experience in a consulting role with a big four accounting firm.
• Prior experience should include involvement in multi-million USD finance and actuarial transformation engagements.

Responsibilities

· Working very closely with sales and marketing team, acquire a deep understanding of the waste sources; identify the new opportunities for treatment and recovery and provide technical support to resale team on the commercialization of the recovery products.

· Source, develop and apply new treatment methods/processes/technologies of industrial wastes and thus enable the company’s technical leadership and competitiveness.

· Establish cost-effective treatment/recovery method for new incoming industrial waste through working closely with operation departments.

· Establish and expand the process and analytical capabilities in the laboratory.

· Develop and apply new technologies for waste treatment/management through collaboration with universities/research institutes.

· Drive the continuous improvement of operation treatment through process optimization or with alternative treatment method.

· Follow the existing system and documentation as per the procedures.

· Ensure good housekeeping in the laboratory and be responsible for the safety and environmental compliance of the new processes.

Remuneration Package

· Basic: S$4,500 to S$6,000

· Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)

We are looking for someone to support:

• Work on RBC 2 related implementation and monitoring.
• Work on in stress testing exercise such as ORSA, industry wide stress tests, dynamic capital adequacy testing (DCAT).
• Participate in the local capital plan to support the business plan team.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of working experience with good understanding in risk-based capital regime.
• Good progress of actuarial exams
• Knowledge of Singapore market and regulations
• Knowledge of AXIS software is preferable
• Good knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Access, Words, Power Point)
• Team player oriented as well as can follow up tasks independently
