In addition to powered flight, bats have evolved the ability to control inflammation, tolerate viral infection, resist cancer, accept extreme diets, and live exceptionally long lives for a mammal of their size. However, the elusive lifestyle of bats coupled with a lack of scientific tools and reagents has made the study of these extraordinary animals difficult and slow going. We are developing the tools and methods necessary to understand the extreme and unique attributes of bat biology and apply these insights to identify and develop new therapies to address some of the most challenging health issues facing humankind.
Position Overview:
Paratus Sciences is looking for an R&D Project and Operations Manager to join us at our Singapore site. Reporting to the Site Head and VP of Discovery Research, the focus for this role will be project management support for the R&D team, and managing site operations. The ideal candidate will have a background in the Life Sciences and experience in the biotech and drug discovery sector. You will collaborate closely with the Site Head and R&D team to coordinate the successful execution of R&D projects, optimize processes, and oversee operational aspects of the site. Responsibilities:
Project Management (primary responsibility)
- Serve as a coordinator on cross-functional teams to drive the successful execution of R&D projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines and milestones to track progress and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners to align project goals and priorities.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
- Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking to ensure timely delivery of project objectives.
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and progress reports.
Operations Management (secondary responsibility)
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the Singapore site.
- Manage site operations, including the coordination with facilities management, IT, and corporate services.
- Develop and implement operational processes, policies, and procedures to optimize workflow and productivity.
Budget and Resource Management
- Work closely with management to develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
- Monitor resource allocation and utilization to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree in the Life Sciences or a related field; advanced degree or certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within the biotech industry. Experience with operations management or related roles is a nice to have.
- Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and projects from conception to completion.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, software and other relevant tools.
- Experience in budget management and reporting would be considered a plus.
- Team player with a positive, proactive, can-do attitude.
