Job Description: Senior Consultant, Financial Reporting

Actuaries OnTap is seeking a nearly/newly qualified actuary to join our expanding team. We will provide you with variety, enabling you to work on a range of projects with different clients across Asia. The types of projects will include those listed below where your initial focus will best match your most recent experience and skills.

• Helping clients to streamline their valuation processes considering speed, accuracy and simplicity
• IFRS17 preparation including liaison with IT, finance and operations to implement or enhance CSM tools
• Financial reporting on various bases
• Prophet modelling for new product launches or adapting for different reporting requirements
• Experience analysis to help derive client’s genuine best-estimate biometric assumptions and for lapse investigations. The analysis will seek to highlight key management actions to feed into improving the business
• Business planning and projections
• Reinsurance optimisation to help clients decide on the best retention and reinsurance program fortheir needs

Qualifications & Experience

You will have:

• at least seven years of experience in an insurer, reinsurer or consultancy with strong knowledge of the different financial reporting processes.
• good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate complex and technical matters to a lay audience
• a well-rounded personality who enjoys working on projects with multi-disciplinary teams
• technical depth and experience with at least one of the commonly used actuarial modelling tool (ideally Prophet)
• familiarity with at least one regulatory reporting regime and/or reporting basis (eg EV, IFRS,RBC, SII, etc)
• a commercial mind and enjoy problem solving to deliver clear actions which are valueorientated
• high attention to detail with a natural inclination to produce supporting documentation

Job Requirements

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• At least 5 years of post-semiconductor process or design experience.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of semiconductors and customer needs.
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems, including creating specifications and drawings.
• Familiarity with measurement, analysis, and reliability assessment tools.
• Basic understanding of the substrate manufacturing process (desirable).
• Ability to solve problems ranging from difficult to moderately complex.

Trial production and design

Manage customer data by sending, receiving, editing, and organizing it effectively.
Implement Design Rule Checks (DRC) and handle system registration.
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and respond to customer feedback.
Create and optimize product drawings, and secure customer approval.
Develop, update, and oversee design and manufacturing data.
Generate and manage tool data.
Produce data for process checks.
Establish product specifications, set up process flows, and register systems.
Summarize the settings for manufacturing conditions.
Review prototype development results in collaboration with relevant divisions.
Summarize the outcomes of quality confirmations.
Manage the transition of prototype production.

Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams.

Standardization, OperationDevelop, standardize, and validate input and design guidelines.
Establish and standardize operational flow rules.
Formulate and standardize correction rules and policies.
Oversee the training and development of design engineers.

Roadmap

Research customer and industry technology trends.
Develop a technology roadmap.
Summarize and manage development initiatives through research and innovation.

Customer Response

Serve as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries from customers.
Conduct regular meetings with customers to discuss and address their needs.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Participate actively in end-to-end actuarial pricing process which includes executing premium and benefit pricing, assumption setting, and profitability testing.
• Assist in product system implementation and user acceptance testing to ensure on time delivery.
• Support system migration by setting up products, reviewing business requirements, and conducting user acceptance tests.
• Liaise with Products, Distribution, and Policy Servicing teams to handle client requests and support marketing campaigns.
• Engage in risk management projects, addressing insurance risk reviews and strengthening controls.
• Involve in non-product activities like experience studies updates, financial stress tests, regulatory initiatives, and marketing support.
• Assist the Head of Pricing in safeguarding the company's financial health and ensuring statutory compliance.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience in life insurance product pricing.
• Experience with Prophet, VBA, and Excel Programming would be good to have.
• Excellent communication skills for clear business connectivity.
• Engaging, open-minded team player with attention to detail for financial analysis.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
