We are looking for candidates to join the fusion energy effort in the newly formed Plasma Physics & Energy Group (PPE), Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR. PPE focuses primarily on microwave plasma diagnostics and RF heating and current drive (H&CD), with an emphasis on solving the challenges faced by future fusion energy systems. The new hire is expected to contribute to, and potentially lead, research in magnetic confinement fusion. Requirements

This project will study and propose feasible solution to retrofit existing coastal protection structures. Special feature of this proposed solution is that it must be able to reduce seawater seepage, using innovative way of impervious material. The solution must also be modular in nature, such that it can be stack onto the existing seawall or the previously installed layer.

The SMART Low Energy Electronic Systems IRG aims to identify new integrated circuit technologies that become the new added value for reduced energy per function, lower power consumption, and higher performance in our electronics infrastructure. The research is performed by teams that have expertise in materials, devices, and circuits, invoking new advances at all levels to produce electronic systems that perform new functions while decreasing system energy consumption. We are looking for a motivated research fellow who is keen on studying how microbes contribute to common skin diseases such as eczema and acne. Our lab is focused on leveraging new technologies to better study microbial populations and their impact on human health. We have extensive experience in metagenomic analysis in clinically or commercially important contexts such as uncovering distinct microbial communities in households affected by paediatric eczema (PMID: 35318044) and revealing the microbial basis of body odour in teenagers (PMID: 30497517). We are now focusing on applying various -omics capabilities to larger sized, longitudinal disease cohorts to understand how microbial pathways and biomarkers change with disease progression and treatment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment, with unique access to next-generation sequencing technologies and a wide range of samples. Primary responsibilities include analyzing metagenomes, metatranscriptomes, leading associated publications and presenting findings at conferences. Project findings will have direct applications to ongoing and new microbiome research projects in the lab, particularly in skin diseases.

The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding functional immune responses in skin immune interactions and recapitulating them in in-vitro and ex-vivo systems.
