Responsibilities:
1. The candidate will be required to perform on-wafer device testing, test data analysis & perform test measurement automation
2. The candidate should have hands-on experience in using an oscilloscope, power supply, analyzer, probe station, and related test tools and data presentation
3. The candidate should know basic programming to instrumentation control using LabView, MATLAB, and other software such as Visual Basic, Python, C++, etc. as a plus

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant/Research Associate in the Human Potential Translational Research Programme (HPTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant/Research Associate (RA) will be involved in an ethnographic and historical study that investigates the urban heat experiences and practices of Singapore households. The RA will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator(s) to ensure the successful and timely completion of the project. The RA’s principal role will be to recruit participants, participate in multi-method physiological-ethnographic fieldwork investigations (physio-ethnography), conduct ethnographic and oral history interviews, data entry and analysis, interview transcription and drafting of publications and reports.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant/Research Associate will assist in physio-ethnographic research and analysis (i.e. conduct interviews, participant-observation, data collection and organisation etc.), liaise with relevant personnel and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator.

1. Support the conduct of physio-ethnographic research;
2. Provide administrative support to the project, such as in the recruitment of participants and data collection;

Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated researchers with expertise in computational modelling of biological systems to join our group at National University of Singapore for the engineering of microbes for biomanufacturing, a field which is rapidly developing and has great potential in providing environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions to address our ongoing challenges. The researchers will be contributing to an industrial project led by A*Star SIFBI. The researchers will have opportunity to work with a diverse group of scientists from NUS, A*Star and the company. Our group @ NUS (https://engbio.syncti.org) specializes in Synthetic Biology in which we engineer microbes with useful capabilities for medical and industrial applications and we are part of SynCTI at NUS (https://syncti.org).

Primary Responsibilities:

The candidate will primarily work on developing computational models of the engineered microbes for the production of high value chemical. The models will be used to optimize the strains and bioprocess.

• Present scientific and technical data in a clear and cohesive manner.
• Ensure scientific integrity and documentation of experimental data to meet standards suitable for intellectual property, and publication.
• To work closely with colleagues/collaborators who are engineering the microbes.

Qualifications

• Possess a PHD in systems biology, computational biology, or other related fields with relevant research experience.
• Have computational modelling skills related to modelling biological systems, biochemical networks, and bioprocesses.
• Have a good understanding of systems and synthetic biology.
• Demonstrated experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with kinetic modelling, simulation, and parameter estimation.
