Job Title: Research Assistant (Design Innovator) in the Design Innovation team of SUTD

As a Design Innovator, you will play an important role in the successful realisation of DI projects and programs. Areas of Focus:

Design Guidance Projects

• Support and/or co-lead projects contributing industrial design, design engineering, systems design or product-service-systems development skillset.
• Mentoring and co-creating in innovation projects with public and private external partners and teams.
• Depending on background and skill sets, develop user experiences (UX), user interfaces, digital solutions, and data-driven solutions for and with external and internal partners.

Design Innovation Workshops and Education, Embedding Design

• Work with the DI Director to engage key stakeholders.

The Design Innovation team is a group of world-leading interdisciplinary designers, technical professionals, and researchers leading the world of design. The Design Innovation team functions to develop fundamental and ground-breaking results in design science as well as to fulfil the mission of a better world by design through a porous interface with industry, government, and social projects. This interface allows for a seamless integration of empirically grounded design methodologies that directly lead to outcomes with positive impacts at the social, media, and technological levels. This role provides extensive pre and post sales support for medical and hospital Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Solutions/ Products to ITS Science & Medical Pte Ltd's customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide on-site user application support to customers on-site or virtually by visits, phone calls, email communications;
• Assist the sales team in tender presentation and product demonstrations;
• Assist Product Manager and/or Service Unit in setting up the system parameters, running evaluation, correlation, and validation based on hospital protocol, and work with service engineers as required during installation;

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team addressing critical issues in advancing sketch prototype concept creation using Large Multimodal Models (LMMs). This role involves contributing to a groundbreaking project aimed at developing and studying novel means of interaction with state of the art LMMs that the research team will develop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, refine, and deploy our sketching application
• Collect and analyse data from the prototype

Research Fellow position is immediately available at the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Laboratory located at National Cancer Centre Singapore. Education Qualifications:

- PhD with minimum 2 years of relevant experience with specialisation in stem cell culture.

• Be part of the HRIS project team as a designated project assignee, e.g., Project Manager, Security SME, Data SME etc., to help ensure project is planned and executed smoothly from initiation to closure.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent with around 5-7 years of experience in providing IT services to financial institutions.

The Senior Research Office/ Research Officer will oversee the progress of research studies under the Program for Nasopharyngeal Cancer with the supervision of the Principal investigator Dr Darren Lim. You will perform a variety of research activities which include planning and execution of experiments for biomarker discovery, novel diagnostics methods and drug development for Nasopharyngeal Cancer.

Your main duties will include:

1. Tissue Logistics:

- Tracking of biological samples received in the lab pertaining to the study

- Collection of patient samples (FFPE, Tissue, WBC, DNA or RNA) from Pathology

- DNA/RNA extraction from frozen tissue or FFPE

- Submission of DNA/RNA samples to external sequencing partner

2. Cell culture and Molecular assays:

- Generation of cell line and/or organoids from tissue collected for the study

- Maintenance of cell lines and/or organoids in culture

- Perform molecular assays on tissue samples /cell lines/ organoids

3. Perform tasks and support all aspects of the research project:

- Performing literature reviews when required

- Plan and execute experiments for the assigned studies

- Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental result and research findings

- Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations/scientific manuscripts/ literature for publication

- Lead and mentor junior staff in sample processing, experiments, data analysis, and database updates (Senior Research Officer)

Our Robotics and Automation Research (ROAR) Laboratory at SUTD is a leading research laboratory specializing in reconfigurable robotics and has contributed to significant intellectual outcomes, novel robotic platforms, impactful applications, patents, and commercial products. We have developed a new branch of robotics namely tiling robotics and a stream of associated research topics.
