We are recruiting a full-time executive for the lead faculty of the ADVANcing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases Network (ADVANCE ID). The appointment will be at executive or senior executive level, depending on the experience of the candidate.

ADVANCE ID is jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and Singapore institutions including the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatment of drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focused on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the region by acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilize capacity and capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. Summary:

The Compliance Inspector is responsible for working independently on assigned projects. The Compliance Inspector needs to demonstrate knowledge of certification requirements regulations and compliance monitoring activities to effectively perform duties that support the company compliance programme. The Compliance Inspector performs periodic audits and investigations of halal operations in support of compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare audit and investigation reports of findings and observations that identify, in detail, areas of non-compliance and risk areas for non-compliance
• Document all compliance activities in the prescribed checklists and databases in accordance with company policies and/or workflows
• Conduct timely follow-up with clients and close the audit.
• Provide thorough audit reports and timely and accurate reviews of client corrective actions, and follow-up and ensure that findings are closed
• Monitor and prepare reports on compliance activities and other matters
• Complete compliance audits and monitoring of various Halal operations
• Communicate with clients proactively via phone calls, emails and/or face-to-face meetings to gather information for the purpose of feedback gathering, analysis, review, records and submissions to authorities.

A major research thrust is the synthesis and investigation of artificially engineered heterostructures of quantum materials synthesized by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) with strong electron correlations which allow new emergent states to be created at the interface.

Job Description

Rainfall-induced erosion failure of the slope is a severe concern in many tropical countries as it can harm public safety and/or infrastructure. The impact could be especially severe in Singapore as our population density is high and our infrastructure development is very dense; hence, some of these slopes are near to the infrastructure development and residential areas. The erosion failure can also lead to high repair costs. Singapore is tropical country with very high annual rainfall. Climate change seems to intensify our rainfall and increase its frequency. And this will increase the occurrence of erosion failure of slope.

This project seeks to study this and develop an “Erosion Risk Map” for Singapore. The scope of works includes the reviewing the mechanism of slope erosion, studying erosion potential subject to rainfall condition, conducting laboratory model testing, supervising site scan on the physical condition for selected slopes in Singapore for risk map development.

L&H Valuation forms part of the L&H Chief Risk Officer unit. The teams are accountable for independent valuation of Swiss Re's L&H business globally, with US GAAP reserves of more than USD20bn.

The L&H Valuation and Analysis Team is responsible for the production and analysis of quarterly and annual reserves for the Life & Health Reinsurance business written by Swiss Re. This includes business written across the world and covers all the lines of business that fall into L&H – mortality, CI, DI, longevity, as well as additional 'complex' products such as those with financial risk.

About the Role (Contract duration: 1.5 years)

This role is a key contributor to the development and implementation of processes for the International Financial Reporting Standard ("IFRS") 17 accounting standards for the Asia business.

Your main responsibilities will include implementation of IFRS reporting, including quantification of impacts, process set up, documentation and handover. Additionally, you will contribute to development and provision of the training process for the Asia actuarial team for IFRS17 reporting.

About You

• At least 3+ years of L&H valuation or pricing experience in reinsurance, primary insurance or insurance consultancy;
• Attained or close to attaining fellowship in actuarial examinations;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational skills;
