You will be an integral member in our world-class Global Operations (Freight) team, which functions as a global control center, responsible for the smooth and secure delivery of our shipments to various 3PLs across 13 countries. In this role, you will be actively involved in freight procurement through strategic negotiation with logistics service providers (LSP), monitoring the overall freight spend and LSP performance.
Our Freight team is essential for the smooth delivery of our inventory across the globe and supporting key partnerships programs with world-renowned brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organisers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strategic working relationships with LSPs to secure the optimal freight arrangements based on each region’s needs
- Participate in strategic negotiation with LSPs to secure freight contracts with favourable rates and terms
- Monitor all freight costs, identify opportunities and proactively develop action plan for cost savings
- Analyze quarterly LSP performance based on metrics to make decisions/ recommendations regarding pricing, selection and drives for improvements
- Audit all LSP elements, perform deep dive analysis on problems to understand root causes, and make decisions based on data
- Act as escalation point to understand gaps in freight operations and ensure timely resolution to LSPs’ needs/ issues
- Identify freight services and outline procurement plans for effective route optimization based on global demand forecast and production schedule
- Utilize various tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, NetSuite, Tableau) for:
○ Analyze internal & external logistics performance across each region using defined KPIs
○ Identifying bottlenecks and develop preventive SOPs
○ Conducting root cause analysis on areas with irregular performance
- Deliver performance feedback to region teams, collaborating with them to troubleshoot key issues and develop effective solutions to optimize freight process across global operations
- Prepare weekly/monthly performance or budget reports and key findings for the Freight Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Logistics & Supply Chain, or the equivalent
- At least 3-4 years’ in Freight Operations and Freight Procurement/Sourcing
- Proven problem-solver and effective negotiator with regional exposure and extensive network of relationship within the freight forwarding industry
- Intermediate proficiency introducing and utilizing various business tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, NetSuite, Tableau)
- Understanding of the Ocean/Air Freight industry and shipping incoterms (i.e FCA, CIF, DAP)
- Good command of written and spoken Mandarin (to converse with Mandarin-speaking vendors/partners)
- Self-starter with excellent communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels internally, 3PLs, freight forwarders and overseas suppliers
- Be an effective communicator on both technical and non-technical topics to customers and internal team members
Bonuses

- Experience in successful implementations of new markets set-up for freight network planning would be a bonus
