Position Definition (Key Purpose of the Position):

As part of the Global Materials Supply (GMS) Team, The Director of Materials will lead the GMS organization that services VANS, Dickies, TBL, Napapijri & SWIB – responsible for raw materials sourced through the Asia Sourcing Offices (ASO). With a team of 4 Direct Report and 11 associates and more than $400M of raw material spend under management annually, the individual is responsible for creating the Material Sourcing Strategy and managing an efficient material supply model that meets or exceeds KPI’s including quality, cost and On-Time-Performance of all raw material spec’d in VANS, Dickies, TBL, Napapijri & SWIB apparel products. GMS Director is expected to act as a business enabler and accelerator, creating scaled capabilities to deliver global efficiencies. The role has an extensive focus and requires strategic connectivity with stakeholders at the Brands, Sourcing, Suppliers, Finance, and Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability organizations. Frequent influential communication to VP and Executive level is required. The Materials Leader is viewed as a key thought partner to bring an innovative and creative solutions culture to the organization to solve complex material supply issues.

Key Results Areas:

· Strategic Planning:

o Build the long- and short-term Raw Material Supply strategy for VANS, Dickies, TBL, Napapijri & SWIB brands factoring in footprint movements, supply models, lead times, cost effectivenes, sustainable materials, brand and sourcing needs (>$400M annual spend across more than 236 suppliers)

o Maximizes performance through V2MOM setting, regular coaching and feedback, andholding people accountable for achieving goals

· End to end Procurement Process Ownership:

o Accountable to design and execute cost negotiation strategy by establishing cost targets, utilizing fact-based methodology, and driving for positive outcomes in supplier facing discussions

o Act as the key liaison for Product Development leadership in all the brands and Sourcing leadership for all material supply related topics

o Establish annual material cost savings targets, drive initiatives, track progress, and report savings with close collaboration with Finance Teams

o Lead the selection of suppliers and materials that support material and manufacturing strategies and Product Development objectives.

o Seek to identify and institutionalize best practices while building aligned processes to increase operational efficiency across brands

· Quality Control: Partner cross-functionally with VF Materials Labs, Sourcing and Quality Leaders in managing all aspects of material quality from establishing guidelines to delivering product to factories

· Material Innovation:

o Support material innovation and capabilities through supplier research and partnership in collaboration with Brand Development and Innovation Teams

POSITION SUMMARY/MISSION

The Director, Global Supply Chain Sustainability is responsible for providing leadership and management of Samsonite’s supply chain sustainability program in support of Our Responsible Journey, the company’s global sustainability strategy. This role will focus on social and environmental topics including but not limited to human rights, climate, and sustainable materials. The role works closely with key internal and external partners, including our sourcing, product development, design, legal, and other teams, as well as with our suppliers and other partners.

This role will be based in Singapore.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The successful candidate will engage cross-functionally to drive and further evolve supply chain sustainability strategy and, importantly, partner on the implementation and delivery of these critical initiatives. The company is seeking an individual who is a skillful translator of a diverse set of topics to our regions and brands and who helps to effectively integrate and embed sustainability into the business, driving progress towards our global sustainability goals.

Strategy

• Partner with our Regional Presidents, Sourcing and Brand leads to provide strategic direction on how to implement the company’s commitments and goals in Our Responsible Journey in our supply chain, build out programs, procedures and governance;

• Maintain and evolve our Sustainable Material Guidance, in partnership with the regions;

• Provide strategic direction for our Global Social Compliance Program, working closely with the Associate Director, Social Compliance, who is responsible for the execution of the Program.

Engagement and Implementation

• Develop and lead supplier engagement program to support the execution and achievement of the company’s sustainability goals (e.g., Human Rights, Scope 3 climate initiatives, Sustainable Material Guidance etc.), in close partnership with the regions;

• Lead Human Rights Due Diligence work, partner with key functions to support internal and external implementation;

• Internal capability building with sourcing teams and business leads on Supply Chain Sustainability.

Monitoring

• Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the risks and opportunities related to the environmental and social impacts of the company’s materials sourcing and manufacturing footprint;

• Monitor recent ESG developments and issues potentially affecting our supply chain;

• Monitor regulatory requirements and develop company response (e.g., CSDDD);

• Track company and supplier performance through suitable sustainability metrics in line with the company’s reporting requirements, in close collaboration with our Associate Manager, Sustainability;

• Support the ongoing monitoring and management of the Samsonite Human Rights approach (in collaboration with Sourcing and HR).

Others

• Contribute to the company’s annual sustainability data collection and ESG Report process as well as other sustainability communication, in close collaboration with our Manager, Sustainability Communications;

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, sustainability or similar.

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in sustainability, with at least 6 years focus on responsible sourcing, supply chain sustainability and/or Human Rights.

• Strong understanding of corporate sustainability, ESG, supply chains and procurement, familiarity with sustainability reporting.

Skills:

• Strong project management abilities, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Successful track record of strategic planning with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Excellent communication and personal presentation skills.

Supply Chain 360 Operational Management and Process Improvement (30%)

• Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, production, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.

Regulatory, Import & Export operations (20%)

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards in supply chain operations.
• Oversee and manage all import and export activities for consumer goods, including coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation for all international shipments, including bills of lading, import/export declarations, and certificates of origin.

Team Leadership & Collaboration (20%)

• Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain & operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

About the team

The Worldpay procurement team brings focused expertise and drives a culture of spending discipline for strategic vendors/categories (highly critical to current and future business operations) via the employment of efficient, effective, and best in class strategic sourcing, contract management, negotiation, and supplier management practices. They serve as a central point of contact for indirect strategic suppliers for goods and services supporting Worldpay’s operations and growth trajectory in the marketplace.

What you’ll own

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Director in London, the Supply Chain Director serves as a central point of contact for internal business leaders and strategic suppliers across APAC, Australia & Middle East. Interfaces with senior leadership both within Worldpay and at suppliers. Serves as a source of best practices to be implemented by more junior team members.

• Competitively sourcing services and goods through engagement of strategic suppliers and application of industry knowledge.
• Drafting, negotiating, project manage and executing contractual documents including but not limited to master service agreements, statements of work, letter agreements, and purchase orders
• Supplier management - supporting the evolution of supplier management through supplier scorecard development and supplier quarterly business
• Intellectual property licensing procurement & structural guidance
• Liaise with technical personnel to interpret technical specifications to commercial and corporate financial requirements
• Summarize and present business cases and agreements for executive review and approval
• Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you bring

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

• 8+ years’ experience in sourcing or similar role.
• Advanced key procurement skills: Development / management of category strategies; RFP / RFI development, contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, management of supplier relationship lifecycle, understanding of risk mitigation principles, and understanding of various cost evaluation methods (TCO, ROI, Payback Period, etc.)
• Advanced contracting skills – knowledge of contracting principles, laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing business strategy, extensive business case writing, strong background in market intelligence research, and excellent in negotiation strategy and tactics
• Extensive experience managing Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules and associated project materials in a mid to large size company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Planning

• Manage, direct and coordinate the Market planning team to optimize efforts in meeting departmental goals

• Translate business strategy to supply chain strategy, partner with global Demand and Supply Team

• Lead and control all Demand activities to ensure cost effectiveness and agreed service levels are maintained

• Own all demand planning tasks from launch to discontinuation, incl. launch sizing, promo planning, PIPO management and non-saleable

• Ensure forecast is using historical data, statistical forecasting and market insights and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool (JDA).

• Track forecast accuracy and fulfilment levels, root-cause variances and develop action plans

S&OP

• Lead the digital transformation of our Demand and S&OP processes in close collaboration with the global teams

• Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans across Asia with supply planning for optimal fill rates.

• Work with Initiative and Marketing groups to determine timelines for the collection of promotional and new brand (or new SKU) forecasts. Coordinate and collaborate in Pre-S&OP meetings.

• Review existing processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency or effectiveness

• Lead monthly S&OP process for the Region with the multifunctional Team split between Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai and Sydney

• Monitor and evaluate KPI’s such as fill rate, forecast accuracy and alignment with financial plans. The process includes identifying gaps, recommending and implementing actions to improve performance in key areas.

Customer Service & Logistic

• Lead the customer Service Team for Travel Retail Asia and ensure order to cash execution for all orders of our customer on time with fulfilment on target

• Develop relationships: Internally with the commercial team and externally with the Customer’s key decision-makers and information sources

• Assess the Customer: Their logistics requirements, capabilities and emerging needs – market requirements

• Implement logistics tools: Link and optimize the cost, reliability and responsiveness of the Supply Chain

• Reduce non-value-added activities/costs/inventory of the joined

Supply Chain

• Implement Logistic Innovations: Implement Industry best practices and assist the commercial team with initiatives and events that require special logistics support

• Manage the Supply Chain Trade Terms negotiations, implementation and compliance as necessary in the market

• Lead regular Supply Chain business reviews with the Customer and own the joint scorecard

• Translate business strategy to supply chain strategy, partner with global Demand and Supply Team

The person in this role will be charged with increasing our client penetration rate across the entire APAC region, both for first time VCF clients and for existing VCF clients to maximize our share of their working capital and value chain wallet.

The span of the target market is broad and requires broad-based knowledge of the target clients, the overall competitive framework and the capabilities and limitations of the VCF product suite. A strong awareness of overall product suitability for client needs in line with Rabobank risk appetite is key to success in delivering.

The overall VCF APAC region is being created to maximize scale and to increase overall efficiency and efficacy. While the role will lead to being a deal captain, it also will require the ability to trust and empower employees to execute while moving on to new opportunities. The person in is this role will be key to contributing to the overall pipeline of the regional franchise and to enhancing awareness within the bank and among bankers. An ability to identify client needs and provide solutions that are able to be delivered as promised and in reasonable timeframes (as well as in line with efficiency, digitalization, and revenue and return targets) is key to success.

As one of the 3 pillars of Structured Lending in the Wholesale setup, VCF is the centre of competence/excellence for payables, inventory and receivables finance solutions. VCF operates across all regions where Wholesale currently operates and primarily serves clients of Wholesale and also serves clients of the Rabobank Group entities, e.g. DLL.

VCF is established to continue to provide Rabobank clients with optionality of products for their working capital needs and to enhance the revenue contribution of clients to the overall Wholesale revenue line by being a one stop service provider for working capital, supply chain finance and value chain finance for customers in the international food & agri markets (Banking4Food). History has shown that if a client is a user of an ABF or SIP product offering, then the client is typically elevated to HVC status in conjunction with other Rabobank product offerings or on a standalone basis.

Role Summary

This role leads and manages the supply chain team to deliver site-operational objectives and provide outstanding supply chain service levels on quality and delivery whilst achieving lowest total cost of acquisition for direct material, indirect goods and services, and logistics. Be an integral part of site management team, representing strategies and objectives of Global Supply Chain team (GSC). Drive deployment of supply chain processes and resource development while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

· Manage the team of Buyers who are responsible for acting on order suggestions (requisition or other) and exception messages generated by MRP system.

l In collaboration with the Global Supplier Performance Group, manage supplier performance (on-time delivery and quality) for site specific deliveries/suppliers.

· Track and improve site supply chain KPIs vs those defined by the Platform Supply Chain Director/Global Supply Chain.

· Manage, minimize / eliminate supplier inflation/price increase request(s) and escalate to appropriate Global Supply Chain team for further leverage accordingly

· Support site PWC objectives by leveraging inventory management opportunities and supplier payment terms (examples: Make vs. Buy strategy / Supplier Managed Inventory programs / Net 60 days as minimum supplier pay term).

· In coordination with the respective teams within the Global Supply Chain, ensure utilization of strategic tools and processes to achieve objectives of improved on-time delivery and quality and reduced cycle times and total cost of acquisition:

· Facilitate and oversee critical supply-site quality issues between Operations, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers as required. · Work with platform and GSC cross-functional teams to support & drive sourcing initiatives to reduce costs, rationalize supply base and leverage new technologies.
