SCHOLAR DEVELOPMENT AND CARE LEAD
=DREAMS (Singapore) Limited is a first-of-its-kind secular, co-ed weekday residential model that provides after-school academic and holistic support to promising and aspiring children from low-income households. She aims to empower them to dream of a future where they are not limited by family circumstances.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Scholar Development and Care Lead. This individual will be responsible for =Dreams daily running, staff’s development, and scholar’s success. The successful candidate will have experience managing a diverse team and was involved in schools or residential leadership roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Scholar Development and Care policies and implementation
- Oversee the residential living and daily routines of the scholars
- Implement and ensure compliance with policies to ensure the development and care of all scholars
- Be responsible for the quality and achievement of Scholars’ individualised care plan
- Ensure scholars are meeting their goals, following the Scholar’s Handbook and are fairly reviewed for disciplinary misdemeanours
- Able to assess for risks, needs and facilitate case conferences with multiple stakeholders including families and school / social worker / counsellor
- Plan, establish systems and maintain collaborative partnerships with the scholars’ families, schools and social workers / counsellors as well as other programme partners
- Prevents and manages crisis, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for all scholars
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation annually
- Contribute to policy-making by providing feedback to Executive Director
Capacity building and staff management
- Formulate training and development priorities for team in alignment with organisational’s vision and mission
- Organise shift/work duty rotation according to residential and programme needs
- Recruit, appraise, coach and regularly supervise residential staff and Development and Care Executives
- Hold staff accountable to organisational mission and policies
Organisational leadership
- Maintain accurate and timely records
- Produce reports to demonstrate effectiveness and outcomes of department
- Manage allocated budget in alignment with financial policies
- Support Executive Director and lead =Dreams programmes and other organisational activities such as donor visits, fundraising, or open houses
- Collaborate closely with other Leads, Executive Director and Board of Directors to ensure success as a team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in any fields
- 8-10 years of experience in developing youths in school and/or residential settings, with at least 6 years of experience managing a diverse team
- Patient, committed and value building authentic relationships with diverse communities, families and professionals
- Excellent coaching, communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrates a track record of managing change to achieve goals
- Be a strong team player
- Mature, able to discern and make good judgements
- Experience in interacting with staff across different levels and ability to gain confidence of senior management, schools and community partners
- Has strategic clarity for social impact and outcomes while tactical and able to implement tasks with great success
- Experience of working with children, youth and low-income families is preferred
